I’m writing this post as part of RJ Scott‘s anniversary blog weekend – the subject is being an author (new, old or very old).
Honestly, I’m not quite sure which category I fall into. Certainly not new, as I’ve been doing this a while. But I don’t feel old or very old, probably due to the fact that I haven’t completed a novel yet. That’s my next aim, followed swiftly, of course, by getting it published! However, perhaps I’m creeping towards being an ‘old’ author (at 27, shocking!) as I have actually started writing a novel. As regular readers of my blog and followers of my work will know, this has been a very long time in coming. I’ve written lots of short stories, which have gradually grown longer, and a novella. But now it’s time to hit the big one!
So, although I don’t consider myself an expert (I probably never will, I’m just not that sort of person!), I’m not quite a newbie, either. And for me, being an author is currently a part-time occupation, though my brain throws out enough ideas that it obviously thinks I’m doing it full-time. The plan for me is to keep writing like crazy and getting things published until (IF!) the royalties grow enough that I don’t need a day job. It may never happen, but hopefully it’ll give me the opportunity to save lots of cash and go travelling to some cool new places – the US being a major aim. The flights are just so damn expensive!
So there you have it, a little more about me, my aims and being old!
I’m also giving away a prize as part of this event, so just fill in the Rafflecopter below for your chance/s to win!

Check out the Lover Unexpected: Sappho Edition book page for an excerpt from my story, as well as a list of buy links (only a few at the moment, but I’ll add to the page as more become available).
Have a great weekend, everyone!
P.S. Keep an eye on the sidebar – I’m doing lots of guest blogging for the next couple of weeks to get the word out about my new releases. My next one is in September, and is my first m/m piece!

However, since the title has a completely new listing on Amazon, it means all my previous reviews have gone. So if you’ve already read and enjoyed Weekend at Wilderhope Manor, I’d love it if you could post your review on Amazon. Any “likes” and tags are also hugely appreciated.
Grab your copy here, if you haven’t already. You can also read and blurb and an excerpt 🙂

So a busy time will be had by me, possibly much of it without mobile phone signal. Though if I do happen to have it, perhaps I’ll be tweeting from the Peaks. We’ll see. Have a great weekend, everyone!

“I thoroughly enjoyed this fast easy flowing read and at only 65 pages is perfect to grab some “me” time with. This is an adorable romance that ends in a super passionate sex scene built from the sexual tension that had been building beautifully throughout the story. I found Annalise so likeable it felt like I was watching a best friend having a romance with someone I knew; they felt so familiar. Lucy really brings these two characters to life making them completely real in your imagination; she adds the little things that we all do to make them familiar to us on print.. er…ok pixels.”

Thanks Carole! 🙂
