Product Review: Dewcibox Subscription Box (@dewcibox)

Dewcibox is a new product to the market which is based mainly around a subscription model – i.e. buyers can subscribe and get a box sent direct to their door each month, which contains a bunch of sexy products. One-off purchases are also available if you just wanted to try it out, or perhaps buy a box as a gift for someone.

The box I received was the April 2016 subscription, and it contained the following:

  • Zuyosa Sexual Vitality Supplement for Men
  • Ayumi: Sensual Massage, Bath & Body Oil
  • PlayBoy Condoms: 2 Premium Latex Condoms
  • Lovehoney: Magic Bullet 10 Function Vibrator
  • Licx: Mix for Her
  • Funkin: Mojito Mixer
  • Milk Chocolate Hearts x 2

My first impressions were very favourable – as seen in the image above, the box looks classy, and is also well-made and well-presented. On opening it, I found my products wrapped in black tissue paper and nestled on a bed of black shredded paper. Looking good. The information leaflets that came with the Dewcibox were also physically of a high standard and were well-designed. However, the information itself could have done with a proofread for grammar, punctuation and consistency. Many folks wouldn’t have even noticed this, but the editor in me is always there, unfortunately, and I felt that this let the overall product down, given it’s otherwise of such a high standard.

The toys and other items themselves were also of a high standard, and there was plenty of variety, too. They’ve obviously been well thought out and carefully chosen.

Overall, this is an intriguing idea, and one I suspect will enjoy success. Keeping things interesting and fresh for those that do decide to subscribe on an ongoing basis could be a challenge, however. This is a product I’d recommend for sex toy newbies – or maybe someone heading off for a sexy weekend away or a honeymoon. For those who are much more into their toys, I’m not sure this could really offer them anything – possibly the offering is too tame.

I do think the pricing and potential saving is appealing, and the production value is high. The only let down is the errors on the printed literature. A tiny point in the scheme of things, but the company has obviously put in a hell of a lot of work here, so to make such a basic error is a shame. Also, to really round out the offering, I think it’d be a nice touch to also include batteries for any toys in the box, if they don’t already come with them. Imagine buying a box, putting it in a weekend bag and heading off, only to find at the crucial moment that you need a battery? Not good.

Sex Toy Review: Rocks Off Ruby Glow Ride On Clitoral Vibrator

63925-04Hi everyone,

Yes, I know the full title is a bit long, but I’m just making sure you’ve got all the facts, all right? 😉 Another fact is – full disclosure – my good friend Tabitha Rayne designed this bad boy (bad girl?). Yes, my friend designed a sex toy – how bloody cool is that?!

My very clever friend designed this toy mostly with writers in mind, to start with. Basically, it’s a toy you sit on, kind of like a saddle. Once it’s in place, the specifically placed vibrators will get you going, and voila – hands free masturbation! So the idea is us writerly folk can sit at our computers and type away on our sex scenes, while at the same time, having our lady bits thrilled beyond all belief.

However, the more Tabitha thought about it, the more she realised that lots of other women could benefit from this idea – ladies who are, for whatever reason, unable to use other types of toy, whether they have limited mobility, dexterity, disabilities, etc. Or even just ladies who want to get off while reading erotica, writing emails or doing their online shopping. This is most definitely a toy with variety. The only limit is your imagination.

This beautifully made, beautifully packaged toy really packs a punch. You can ride Ruby Glow with or without your clothes – if you go nude, water-based lube is best – and enjoy the twin motors with their three speeds and seven vibration patterns.

Ruby Glow is incredibly well-made, high-quality and high-powered. The design is unique and exciting, and once you’re settled in, get ready for the ride of your life! It’s a damn good price, too. So, what are you waiting for? If you’re looking for an excellent hands-free orgasmic experience, check out Ruby Glow.

Available from: Rocks Off, Amazon UK, LoveHoney. Also, be sure to like Ruby Glow’s Facebook page!

Happy Reading and Riding!

Book Review: Prince Lestat by Anne Rice

Prince LestatPrince Lestat, the latest book in Anne Rice’s epic The Vampire Chronicles series is one hell of a big read – especially in hardback format. But then, it’s telling one hell of a big story. Told from many, many points of view (so don’t rush reading it, or you risk getting lost or confused), Prince Lestat deals with a crisis in the vampire world. Young vampires are being slaughtered all over the world – nests being burned by ancient vampires. But why? It soon transpires that there is a bigger force at play, much bigger than the vampires that must come together and solve this problem before their race is completely wiped out.

I can’t say too much without giving the plot away, but this is a seriously ambitious book. It tells multiple stories from many different perspectives and time periods, then brings it all together in an epic climax. There were times when I did wonder where the narrative was going, what the relevance was to some of the chapters, but I shouldn’t have worried. Rice is a master (or should that be mistress?) storyteller, and she manages to lead the reader on a huge, huge journey, with many characters, twists and turns, yet still leave them having a light bulb moment at the end, where it all comes together. Really, I should have re-read the entire series of books again before coming to this one, but in a way, it didn’t matter. There were enough recaps of relevant parts that I didn’t feel I was missing too much. But it did make me want to refresh my memory, spend more time with characters that are only touched on in this book.

Another compelling addition to the series, I look forward to what comes next.

Sex Toy Review: UltraTouch G-Spot Seahorse Vibrator

gspotseahorseThe lovely folk at Honour.co.uk sent me the UltraTouch G-Spot Seahorse Vibrator to test out. It arrived quickly and in discreet packaging. Even when I opened the outer box, the actual toy’s box was lovely. Slim and classy, though a tad difficult to get into. Once there, though, the unique design is immediately apparent, as is the high quality.

The UltraTouch G-Spot Seahorse Vibrator has three motors inside – and that’s not even the best part. The best selling point, in my opinion, is the fact it’s rechargeable, and the charger is included. The toy arrived with enough charge for use, but it’s recommended to charge it for around two hours to get full power. Even with the three motors, however, this toy is pretty quiet, and definitely does the job. The motors are perfectly placed to stimulate a woman’s most erogenous zones and zoom her to orgasm. Another added bonus is that you can use this baby in the bathroom, too, as it’s splash proof. Add some water-based lube (the toy is silicone, so don’t use silicone lube) and you’re away.

The UltraTouch G-Spot Seahorse Vibrator will supply a unique and orgasmic playtime without too much noise and at a very reasonable price. Bag yours at Honour.co.uk.

Sex Toy Review: Layla Artiche Slimline Rabbit

laylaarticheslimlinerabbitThose lovely folk from SweetSutra.com sent me the Layla Artiche Slimline Rabbit to review, so many thanks go to them. Without further ado, here’s my write-up:

The Layla Artiche Slimline Rabbit makes a very good first impression – the packaging is of good quality and is attractive. Once opened, the toy itself is very nice-looking and the instruction leaflet that comes with it is really well-presented.

The Layla takes three AAA batteries, which are easy to fit, you just twist the very base of the toy and remove the end, put the batteries into the holder, then put it back and secure the base once more. Then Layla is ready to go. To switch it on, there’s a separate button, and then you select the settings for vibration and rotation. The rotation/pulsation has three speeds, and the bunny ears three speeds and also some escalating settings, too. The best thing to do is just play with the settings to see what suits you best.

The shaft itself is slim, so ideal for beginners or those that just prefer a smaller toy. The ears aren’t overly rigid, and I was concerned that for that reason, it wouldn’t do the job, but I’m pleased to report that it did. A tad noisily, I’ll grant you, so not a toy to be used if there’s someone else in the house, but it had the desired effect.

Another bonus is that the Layla is waterproof. I didn’t test this aspect out, but I can attest to the fact that the toy is very well-made, the base looks suitably watertight and I’m sure it would be a great companion in the bath or shower.

Overall, I would definitely recommend the Layla Artiche Slimline Rabbit. It’s attractive, it’s versatile, it packs an orgasmic punch and is of high quality. The only downside is the price, but if you want to pay for something that does the job, does it well, and will last a long time, then why not treat yourself?

Book Review: Bad Angels by Rebecca Chance

Bad AngelsBad Angels was sent to me for review by the publisher, and I’m very glad they did. It’s not quite what you’d call erotica – I believe it’s classed as a bonkbuster. Basically, it contains sex scenes which are a little graphic, but not too full on.

The book tells the story of a luxury apartment building in London, which houses celebrities, oligarchs and other people who have the ridiculous amount of cash required to live there. There’s also a very high quality plastic surgery clinic next door, and it owns some of the apartments so those who wish to recuperate in extreme privacy may do so – and there are also nurses at hand to administer their after care. It’s Christmas time, and there’s an awful lot happening in Limehouse Wharf. Broken hearts, divorce, marriage, attempted assassinations, love, unexpected love… it’s all going on.

I really enjoyed Bad Angels. I haven’t read anything by Rebecca Chance before, but I’ll definitely seek out her work in the future. Her writing flows really well, it’s very engaging and the humour thrown in had me laughing out loud on more than one occasion. It’s a long book, but it certainly didn’t feel that way – each chapter had me eager to read the next, to find out if the residents and staff of Limehouse Wharf had a happy Christmas and New Year. Definitely recommended if you like your books with sex, scandal and humour.
