My Sexy Saturday #141 – Come on, get a grip, Jessie! #MySexySaturday

My Sexy Saturday

Welcome back to My Sexy Saturday! This is where writers post either 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs from their published work or work in progress. I’m picking up where I left off before Christmas, with Window Dressing, an F/F short story. It was first released as part of the Ladies Only anthology, and released as a standalone on the 20th December.

Window DressingThen, wiping my damp palms on my black work trousers, I approached the rear door of the shop where I was to work.

Come on, get a grip, Jessie! You may be new at this, but you know what you’re doing. You’ve got this.

I wasn’t totally insane to be nervous. I’d been working for the shop-fitting company for just over a year now, and it was great. I really enjoyed the work, the variety.

Saturday Spankings #114 – He felt like helpless prey… #SatSpanks

Saturday Spankings-467x200Hi everyone,

Welcome to Saturday Spankings, which is where authors post eight-ish sentences of a spanking on their blogs. Happy New Year!

At the end of last year, I’d started sharing from my M/M kinky erotic romance novella, Doctor’s Orders, so I’m going to keep sharing from that for a little while. It’s available now.

Doctor's Orders“Then dawdling as we walked back here from the restaurant. Bath’s a beautiful city, I’ll grant you, but I’m not sure you needed to study the architecture in quite that much detail. We’ve got all day tomorrow and Sunday to do that. I’d say all of that definitely puts you in the category of prick tease. Now,” his expression morphed into one of smug satisfaction, “the question is, what are we going to do about it?”

Aaron stayed quiet and didn’t move. From his place halfway between the door and the bed, he watched as Blake removed his smart shoes and jacket, stowing them tidily away before slowly circling Aaron. He felt like helpless prey being stalked by a predator—which was, of course, exactly what was happening.

I hope you enjoyed that snippet! You can buy the book here. And then see the below list to hop to the other authors taking part…

Random Meeting by Maggie Mundy (@MundyMaggie)

Thank you for having me on your blog today. I am excited to let you know about my latest release Random Meeting.

Random Meeting

Random Meeting is a romantic thriller about Beth and Greg.  Their relationship is haunted by a dead husband, a stalker, and lies.

Blurb Random Meeting

Beth is a widow and Greg is an ex-con. They are two lost souls who have a random night of sex together.  Nine months later they meet again.  This time, swear words roll off her tongue as she gives birth to their son. Everything changes when Greg holds Josh, but this isn’t real, they are not married, or a happy family. Plus there are ghosts on the scene who plan on taking possession of people for their own ends. Greg can offer money, but can’t offer love. Their relationship should be doomed, but sometimes the most unlikely of partners bring out the best in each other if they can only stay alive.

Excerpt

Greg’s lips were so close, and Beth wanted them on hers. No, she didn’t, but yes she did––okay, seriously confused here. His eyes gazed into hers, and she sensed he was waiting for her. It was just a kiss, but it had been so long. More than that, she needed him to stay and make her feel alive, if he left her alone, she might do the unthinkable. She moved forward and lips touched, just a feather-light touch. She trembled, he trembled, and from that moment, she was lost.

He moved back and smiled at her. They were like a couple of naughty kids doing something they shouldn’t. His strong hands held her face as if she were delicate porcelain as he ran his right thumb slowly along her bottom lip, then he leaned forward. His lips brushed against hers, caressing them from one end to the other. Alarm bells were ringing and saying this was much more than a kiss, but she decided to ignore them just for one moment, then she would ask him to go.

That was a lie, and she knew it.

His lips parted, and Beth tasted the sweetness of his coffee as she explored his mouth. She had forgotten how sensual a kiss could be as his lips pressed firmly against hers, and his tongue swirled and discovered every corner of her mouth. His arms encircled her waist, pulling her close as his body pressed into her. It was too long since she had felt a man against her, a man hard for her, wanting her. Her arms hung at her side. She didn’t trust herself to touch him. She didn’t trust herself to do anything. He pulled away, and she found herself leaning forward, her breathing rapid as her mouth and body ached and yearned for more.

“I’d like to stay, Beth. You don’t know me, but I won’t hurt you, I promise. I just want to be with you.”

She could tell him to leave, but he made her hot in places that had been cold for so long. Her need was frightening in its intensity. He stood still. She needed to be wanted by him tonight, even if he walked out the door in the morning. In fact, she wanted him to walk out the door in the morning. No one would know. Didn’t she deserve to have a night of passion with a stranger, to make up for all the pain?

“Yes.” Was that her voice? It sounded breathy. He smiled at her and then bent his head so his lips touched her neck. His tongue swirled on her skin, causing her to melt inside. Her body was hot, and yet she shivered. The yearning she sensed deep inside was almost painful, but it was a good pain. She was still alive.

He stopped and stood back.

“You’re sure about this? I can still go. I don’t want to make you do anything you don’t want to.”

Bio

I live in Adelaide, Australia with my husband, one cat, two dogs and a snake. I have a motorbike that I would like to ride more than I do and I love walking at the beach and listening to the waves.  I’ve always loved reading all forms of fiction from high fantasy and paranormal to contemporary and decided the stories in my head needed to be written down. It was either that or start on medication. Unlike many, I didn’t know I wanted to be a writer until a few years back.  I started off doing a degree in drama but soon realized my love was in writing, though there is a play lurking somewhere on my computer. My day job is as a nurse in the operating room. I believe romance can be fun to read and write, but it’s exciting to spice it up with the uncertainty that comes with suspense where the rules can be broken.

New Release: The Beauty and the Badass #BDSM #ASMSG #IARTG #SSRTG #LPRTG

Hi everyone,

Yay, it’s release day for the standalone version of The Beauty and the Badass! I’m very excited for my first release of 2017, and hope you’ll consider checking it out. If you’ve got eBook gift cards burning a hole in your virtual pocket, then what better way to start spending them? 😉

Here’s the blurb:

From the moment Alexei Miles sets eyes on the kickboxing instructor at his new gym, he’s enthralled. She’s strong and sexy, and he senses something in her that speaks to his deepest desires. Bored of meaningless one-night stands, Alexei vows to find out more about the beautiful badass. He hopes his senses are correct—that her desires will match his own, and that his period of unsatisfying sexual encounters is over.

Zoe Harrison notices the new guy as soon as he walks into the gym—difficult not to, really, given he’s a six-feet-plus gorgeous Viking. As well as being attractive, he awakens something deep inside that she’d almost forgotten about. Men that can handle Zoe’s busy lifestyle are few and far between. Add to that her very specific sexual appetites and it’s little wonder she’s been single for so long. Is the Viking about to change all that?

Note: The Beauty and the Badass has been previously released as part of the Dirty Doms boxed set.

The Persecution of the Wolves Now Available in Print! #SSRTG #LPRTG #ASMSG

Hi everyone,

First of all – Happy New Year! I’m back in the office today after nine days off, so it’s taking me quite a while to get caught up on emails, admin and the like, but I’m getting there! I spent some of those nine days decorating my home office, just a fresh lick of paint and a new carpet, and it’s looking pretty damn good, even if I do say so myself.

So, although 2016 left off with more crappy news (the sad demise of All Romance eBooks – just Google it if you don’t already know and are curious), 2017 has started off well, as the fab folks at Evernight Publishing dropped me a line to let me know that The Persecution of the Wolves is now available in print. How awesome is that?

Here’s a reminder of what it’s all about, followed by the paperback links:

Werewolf brothers Matthew and Isaac have lived in the peaceful village of Eyam, Derbyshire all their lives. The villagers know what happens every full moon, and have their reasons for keeping quiet. But this secrecy comes at a cost—the brothers can’t risk romantic entanglements.

Then, at the full moon, a sheep is slaughtered on Eyam Moor, by what could only be a large animal. Even the brothers’ staunchest supporters begin to have their doubts about who—or what—could have done it.

As the brothers fight to clear their names, things are complicated by unexpected opportunities to indulge their lust. Isaac is intrigued by a handsome newcomer to the village, and a vivacious visitor is happy to offer Matthew her all.

Can the men prove their innocence, or is their centuries-old secret about to be revealed to the outside world, bringing their carefully-crafted existence crashing down around their ears?

Please note: This book has been previously published under the title Pack of Lies. The content remains the same.

Thrown to the Wolves by Naomi Clark (@naomi_jay)

Thank you for having me today! I’m here with my new Romance on the Go, THROWN TO THE WOLVES. This story was partially inspired by an article I read on Romania’s Hoia Forest earlier this year. It’s long been famous for paranormal activity, from UFO sightings to the strangely shaped trees. Some people believe it’s a gateway to another dimension, whilst others say it’s haunted by the ghost of murdered peasants. There’s a rich history of folklore and urban legend growing there, and so what better place to set a paranormal tale?

I’ve stayed away from UFOs and ghosts, though, and instead gone with vampires and werewolves. Well, it is Romania! In THROWN TO THE WOLVES, aspiring author and tattooed tomboy Paige goes hunting for inspiration. And she finds it…along with danger, ancient enemies, and of course, love. I hope you’ll enjoy my little venture into the Hoia Forest!

*****

Blurb

Paige went to Romania looking for inspiration for a book. She found herself caught in a horror story. Attacked and left for dead by a vampire, Paige finds herself at the mercy of Kata, a beautiful, enigmatic werewolf. Their attraction is instant, but Paige’s fate hangs in the balance. She may yet be turned into a vampire herself. Soon it’s clear to Paige that the only way to save herself may be to return to the woman who attacked her…even if it means placing both herself and Kata in the greatest danger.

*****

Excerpt

This was her rescuer, she guessed. She’d gone from the jaws of a wolf to the bed of a woman, so someone had rescued her. But there was nothing about this woman that said “safe” or “friendly.” She was regal, imposing, and her silence was intimidating. But Paige didn’t have it in her to sit meekly and say nothing. For all she knew, she could be worse trouble now, with this woman, than she’d been out in the woods or with the creature she’d fled in the first place.

The memory of the woman who wasn’t a woman made her shudder, and she touched her throat. She felt dried blood and a dull ache, and it forced her to speak.

“What are you?” she asked.

It was probably the wrong thing to say. She should have said thank you, or asked where she was, or even asked the woman’s name. But those questions didn’t matter even a tiny fucking bit. Not after the nightmare she’d found herself in.

The woman laughed, a rich sound that made Paige think, incongruously, of sticky toffee pudding. “You are smarter than I thought,” she said in heavily-accented English. “When you see a woman lost in these woods at night, you don’t think she can be very smart.”

Unnerved, Paige sat up slowly, pulling the rough duvet up with her. She was still fully clothed, she realized, but the duvet gave her a sense of security anyway. Stupid, but true.

“My name is Kata,” the woman continued. She turned to a small, rough-hewn table at the bedside. A jug of water and a glass sat there, and she filled the glass before offering it to Paige.

Paige ignored it, despite the dry thirst gnawing at her. “I didn’t ask your name.”

Kata gave her a mock innocent look, eyes wide. “Sorry. Perhaps my English is not so good.”

Paige thought Kata’s English was probably fine, certainly better than Paige’s Romanian. “What are you?” she asked again, louder and slower this time, in that ignorant manner so many Brits abroad used that she hated. Her voice shook as she spoke, but she managed to hold Kata’s gaze and she was proud of that.

Kata set the glass down and pointed to the wound on Paige’s throat. “You have seen things already tonight I think you would not believe, yes? So I will ask you, what do you think I am?”

Her voice was gentle, with genuine curiosity in the question. And Paige thought about it, and thought she could fall into hysterics or rage, deny what her heart already knew and claim it was impossible. It would be easy—nice, even—to do that, because twelve hours ago, she would have said it was impossible, and she would have laughed at anyone who told her otherwise.

The problem was, hysteria and denial never helped. Staying calm, acknowledging the problem and finding a solution, that was what helped, whatever the situation. And besides, wasn’t the bite at her throat proof that it wasn’t impossible? Wasn’t passing out in front of a wolf and waking up in front of a woman just further proof? Impossible wasn’t impossible anymore.

So she said the impossible words. “I think you’re a werewolf.”

About the Author

Naomi likes writing, perfume, fancy tea, and unfathomable monsters from the dark spaces between the stars, not necessarily in that order. She has been writing stories ever since she learned how to write, but is still trying to master the art of biography writing. When she’s not dealing with werewolves, demons, or sea monsters, she’s hanging out with her cat and probably watching a documentary about Bigfoot. If the cat isn’t available, she’s with her fiancé watching cookery shows and silently plotting her next book.
