Saturday Spankings #116 – Suddenly, Blake moved out of sight. #SatSpanks

Saturday Spankings-467x200Hi everyone,

Welcome to Saturday Spankings, which is where authors post eight-ish sentences of a spanking on their blogs.

I’m continuing with Doctor’s Orders this week. I hope you enjoy it!

Doctor's OrdersHe was sure, after an evening’s teasing in the restaurant, he wouldn’t have too long to wait until he found out.

The circling—or was it stalking?—lasted a while longer, until Aaron was on the verge of squirming uncomfortably, or begging. Which, he was sure, was Blake’s intention.

Suddenly, Blake moved out of sight. Straining to hear, Aaron tried to figure out what his boyfriend was doing. He picked up the sound of a long zip being drawn open—Blake’s weekend bag, for a guess—then rummaging. A quiet exclamation from Blake—he’d found whatever he was looking for—then another, shorter zip. A small thud—something being put down.

I hope you enjoyed that snippet! You can buy the book here. And then see the below list to hop to the other authors taking part…

My Sexy Saturday #142 – “She frightens the bloody life out of me.” #MySexySaturday

My Sexy Saturday

Welcome back to My Sexy Saturday! This is where writers post either 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs from their published work or work in progress. Here’s another snippet from Window Dressing, following on from last week.

Window DressingBut this was the first time I’d been sent out on a job by myself. It hadn’t been intentional, either—the job was last-minute, and the client had made it worth my employer’s while. Normally there would be a team of two coming here, but there was another big job, one that needed the more experienced fitters on board. Therefore, I’d been pulled off that task, in order to do this one. Alone.

Adding more worry was the warning one of my colleagues had given me on finding out where I was being sent. ‘You watch out for that Edith woman, Jessie. She may look like a pixie, but she’s actually more of a dragon. She frightens the bloody life out of me.’

Payback’s a Bitch by Kacey Hammell (@kaceyhammell)

**Author Note: This book was previously released at another publisher. It has been revised extensively with a new title for re-release.

Payback's a BitchBlurb:

No amount of braking will stop this payback from crashing and burning.

Racecar driver Lark Stevens agrees to help a close friend prove that paybacks can be a bitch. What she doesn’t expect is to fall in lust with her mark.

Set on her mission, Lark assumes the mystery man who amps up the heat and pushes her heart into overdrive is her intended target. And once they connect, getting even is the last thing on her mind.

As the heat smolders and revs from zero to sixty in mere seconds, Lark realizes she’s on a crash course of emotion that no amount of braking will stop.

Warning:  No-holds-barred sexual teasing, dances meant to titillate and push you over the edge, and M/F love scenes to get engines revving.

Chapter One

“Are you sure you’re okay doing this? It’s a lot to ask. You haven’t done this since college.” Lark’s best friend and business partner, Eli, sounded tense on the other end of the phone.

Annoyed, Lark sighed. She’d already agreed to his request, and they’d talked it to death. “Of course I’m sure. Everything’s great. I’ll be at your office tomorrow afternoon around three.”

“You know this is for fun. Just a bit of payback for Aaron.”

“Yeah, yeah. I got it.”

Lark strolled to her bedroom closet, eager to see a few of her favorite things. She slid the accordion door open, anchored her phone between her cheek and shoulder, and reached behind a wad of hanging clothes to retrieve a plastic garment bag.

As she unzipped it, she smiled at the exquisite silk and leather. She hadn’t worn the more risqué skirts and tops in her closet for a couple years. Not since her last boyfriend, who hadn’t appreciated the adventure in their sex life. But she loved wearing leather or spandex. The material slid along her skin, bolstering her confidence and sexiness. Her heart rate raced from zero to sixty in anticipation. Lark shivered, hit the speaker button on her cell phone, and then dropped it on the nightstand.

“Aaron won’t know what hit him. He’ll definitely understand the meaning of payback’s a bitch when I’m through with him.” Lark laid four outfits on the bed and pondered them.

Red, blue, and two black mega-short skirts with silk, midriff-baring halter tops—but which was best for a fun prank?

“Just don’t hurt him.” Eli’s gruff voice hinted at concern for his longtime friend, who was about to be punked.

“Don’t worry. I’ll treat him like my Chevy Impala, and shift him gentle.”

They both laughed.

She lifted the red set. Perfect. Lark got on her knees beside the bed to look underneath and reached in as far as possible. Once she touched the tops of the matching red stiletto knee-high boots, she grinned. This outfit topped off with her vibrant red wig would be the icing on the cake. Yes. She yanked the heels free from their hiding place.

“There’s nothing to worry about. You go do your business with Fairfax Motors and land us a new sponsor, and I’ll take care of your good friend,” she said.

“Aaron’s mentioned financially backing us, too. That’d be great for us.”

Lark sat on the side of the bed. “Great. We won’t turn away money. But—” she frowned. “You’re not pimping me out to score some green, are you?”

“What? Jesus, Lark,” Eli shouted over the line. “I’d never do that and you know it. What do you take me for? We’re business partners, for fuck’s sake, and have been friends even longer than that! Hell, you’re the top female racecar driver anywhere. I’m not biased either. Besides, I’m not a lame chump, ya know.”

She laughed. “Okay. Okay. Stop groveling, you big baby. I hear ya. Go make us some moolah. I need to get pretty for tomorrow.”

“I’ll call you around five to tell you how he reacted to the prank. And thanks, babe. You’re the best. I should be finished my meeting with Fairfax by then. I’ll be miles across town or I’d ask you to dinner.” Eli chuckled. “I should have set up a videotape to see Aaron’s face.”

“No freaking way, buddy.” She tossed her jeans and underwear into the hamper in the corner. “I’ll give you every delicious detail. Gotta run. Ciao.”

“Later.”

She ended the call, then grabbed her robe from where it hung on the bedpost and strode into the bathroom.

Lark loved this room. The white walls and floor tile sparkled in the sunlight shining from the skylight she’d had installed after moving in. It was her sanctuary—her getaway from the dust and sweat from the track, and the demands on her time—and where she did her best thinking. Plus, racing at full throttle almost every day made her shoulders tight and rigid, and she really needed to soak the tension away.

Her seventy-two-inch claw-foot bathtub had been the final nail in the coffin in her decision to buy this house. Some days she lived in her tub.

Lark set her belongings on the vanity and turned the taps to fill the deep, cast-iron oval tub. She turned and shed her favorite “Race Car Drivers Like It in Overdrive” t-shirt and sweats that Eli had bought her last year for her birthday.

She bunched her hair up and back with her fingers, tugged the long tresses into a ponytail, and then peeled off her bra and panties.

Pleased with the way the day had gone, Lark smiled. She’d accomplished the second win she needed to advance to the next round of competition. Excitement for tomorrow filled her. She and Eli always had a blast; they shared a twisted sense of humor. Pulling one over on his best friend was going to be a lot of fun: Lark was going to deliver a simple bump-and-grind lap dance that had him sweating. It’d serve Aaron right for pushing some dude on Eli six months ago, trying to prove Eli was gay. She wanted to avenge her best friend, who hadn’t yet admitted his sexuality. They’d touched on the subject a few times, but he’d adamantly refused to confirm. She’d never pushed Eli into admitting what she suspected was the truth. And the realization that Aaron had tried to force Eli into something he wasn’t ready for irked her.

Prank or not, she loved putting on her shit-kicker boots, dressing to kill, and putting on a good show.

Teaching someone a lesson or two added to the thrill of dancing sexy again and pulling off this prank. When she finished with Aaron, all he’d see was her taillights as she left him teased and confused.

Paybacks were such a bitch.

New Beginnings by L.M. Somerton (@lmsomerton)

There’s a line in a song by rock band The Editors, “Some things should be simple; even an end has a start”, which has resonated with me recently as I come to the end of a book series. Tales from The Edge consists of eight books and four free short stories and began almost four years ago with Reaching The Edge. The main characters, Olly and Joe, have inhabited my head ever since and letting go has proved anything but simple. I wish they were real – they’d make really good friends and I think a night out with them might be an adventure!

I didn’t want to write a never-ending series where readers forget what the whole premise was about and characters become formulaic caricatures. That’s boring for the reader and the writer. But, I never imagined how involved readers would become with the fictional lives of a group of kinky, loving men who overcome their problems with the help of friendship, perseverance and a healthy dose of snark.

Whilst writing Tales from The Edge, I frequently found myself accidentally creating characters with the potential for stories of their own, so I may have to indulge in a few more short freebies when the urge takes me! In the meantime, the final book in the series sows the seed for a new set of stories I’ll also be starting this year. So the end really is a start. Thanks so much for hosting me. xx

Series Blurb

The Edge is a training company with a difference. It’s weekend clients come for classes in bondage and domination, not team building and problem solving. The management, staff and customers of The Edge do not lead boring lives. In fact they have a habit of getting themselves into all kinds of trouble. Put dominant, possessive alpha males together with bratty, loveable submissives and sparks are bound to fly. Tales from The Edge are their stories.

Blurb for Binding the Edges (Book #8 in the series)

Never let go of the one you love.

After recent traumatic events, Olly is finding it hard to get his head around what happened. While he tries to deal with a maelstrom of emotions, renovations at The Edge are in full flow, alongside preparations for tenth anniversary celebrations. Joe, his Dom, recognizes Olly’s delicate state of mind and does his best to reassure him. A trip to the New Forest with their friends, Aiden and Heath, helps the healing process.

Returning home, Olly and Aiden focus on preparations for the party. When Aiden is called away, Olly takes a walk to clear his head, keeping his eye on a brewing storm. To his horror, he discovers Mark Vickery, an old enemy, has landed on the island by boat and is out for revenge.

With Olly missing and the storm raging, Joe, Heath and Aiden set out on a rescue mission that unfolds in a way none of them expected. Can the storm wash away the past or will Olly and Joe’s future be destroyed by a twist of fate?

Binding the Edges

Excerpt from Binding the Edges

Olly tilted his head back to get a proper look at Joe’s face. Joe’s expression gave no indication of remorse or guilt, just his usual serene certainty that everything was under control. His control. He pressed a finger against Olly’s lips preventing him from forming them into a pout.

“Who knows what’s best for you, sweetheart?”

Olly ducked his head, escaping Joe’s finger. “You do, Sir.” In Olly’s mind, nothing was more certain. Joe only ever acted in Olly’s best interest, even to his own detriment. “But you don’t have to worry about me.”

“That’s for me to decide, Oliver. After everything you’ve been through recently I didn’t want you to be on your own.”

“Because you’re a psychologist and you were analyzing me?” Olly asked.

“No, because you needed a friend. I know what you’d do if you had too much time on your own to think. You’d mull over every detail of what happened and start to blame yourself, wish you’d handled things differently. Then you’d start worrying about all the what ifs with that creative imagination of yours, and end up having nightmares for weeks.”

“You know me too well, Sir.” Olly nuzzled against Joe’s chest, absorbing his warmth.

“I have better things to do with you in bed than watch you toss and turn in your sleep.”

“Yes, Sir.”

“So no sulking with Aiden. He’s a good friend.”

“The best. Now I understand why he didn’t run away when I interrogated him about what he and Heath got up to last night. I think you did me a favor, Sir.”

“That grin is far too wicked. I suspect you need to be punished.” “Ooh, yes please!”

“But you have packing to finish because we need to get on the road if we’re going to make it to Hampshire in time for dinner.”

“You’re no fun, Sir.” Olly was torn between wanting to play with Joe and his curiosity about their destination. He would also get to see Carey and Alistair. Maybe some of his other friends, too. “What do you want me to take?”

Joe gave him a curious glance. The press of Joe’s fingers under his chin tilted Olly’s head back. “This isn’t like you. Usually you’d have two enormous suitcases stuffed to bursting by now. What’s going on?”

“Sorry, Sir.” Tears that seemed to come all too quickly stung Olly’s eyes.

“Hey, now. None of that.” Joe kissed away a tear. “Are you having a tough time making decisions at the moment?”

Olly nodded. He worried that if he spoke he’d have a full-on nuclear meltdown. “Well, it’s a good job you have me, isn’t it?”

Olly bobbed his head, feeling a bit like a nodding dog toy. His head felt too heavy for his neck and a wave of exhaustion washed over him. He wanted to grab a pillow, one that smelled of Joe, hug it tight and drift off to sleep.

Cover Reveal and Pre-Order for A Different Kind of Cosplay

Hi everyone,

I’m delighted to show off the stunning new cover for my M/F geeky erotic romance novella, A Different Kind of Cosplay!

If the title sounds familiar to you, that’s because this book was previously published elsewhere. I have now got the rights back to the book and have self-published it with this gorgeous new cover and a much lower price. If you didn’t read it in its previous incarnation, I hope you’ll consider checking it out now! It releases on the 24th January.

Here’s what it’s all about:

Zachary has a dilemma. His girlfriend, Reese, has a special birthday coming up soon and he has absolutely no clue what to get for her. It doesn’t help that Zach does not share or really understand Reese’s biggest hobby—comic books, superheroes and everything that goes with them. Zach raids Reese’s DVD collection for inspiration, and what he finds there gives him an idea…possibly the best one he’s ever had.

Sure, Reese has fantasized about her favorite superheroes. All those muscles and rakish smiles are to die for. She didn’t think Zach would ever really understand, though. But he proves her wrong in the best way possible.

Saturday Spankings #115 – Blake could be utterly unpredictable… #SatSpanks

Saturday Spankings-467x200Hi everyone,

Welcome to Saturday Spankings, which is where authors post eight-ish sentences of a spanking on their blogs.

I’m continuing with Doctor’s Orders this week. I hope you enjoy it!

Doctor's OrdersBlake’s stockinged feet made zero noise on the plush carpet, so when he was out of Aaron’s sight, it was impossible to know precisely where he was. Especially since he changed direction a couple of times, popping back into Aaron’s vision from the same side he’d disappeared from it. It was all to disorient him, to put him on edge. And, despite the simplicity of the actions, it worked. Blake could be utterly unpredictable at times, particularly when he put his mind to it, which was what made their sex life so exciting.

Adding an extra layer of excitement was the fact that Aaron knew Blake had been planning this weekend for a while. The weekend away itself, the hotel, the location, weren’t a surprise—their work schedules meant that any time off together had to be organised well in advance and with almost military precision—but the posh restaurant had come out of the blue. So what else did the delectable Doctor Colville have in mind?

I hope you enjoyed that snippet! You can buy the book here. And then see the below list to hop to the other authors taking part…
