Souls From Around The World

Welcome to the Souls Around the World Blog Hop – where a bunch of authors and bloggers will be sharing things that go bump in the night! I’m sharing a snippet from my Halloween story, Weekend at Wilderhope Manor, which is lesbian erotica. Be warned… it’s spooky, and sexy!

*****

Half an hour later, and Stephanie’s brain was in overdrive. Despite never having participated in one of these evenings before, she was a fan of quizzes, puzzles and brain teasers of any kind, so she was having great fun. Everyone had been briefed, though Jenny and she had been so eager to get going they hadn’t paid full attention. Then everyone split up, each sent off on their own quest in order to uncover the truth of “whodunit.” Stephanie, having narrowed it down to two suspects, headed to the library to check for extra clues and evidence to help her nail down the perpetrator.

As she made her way along the narrow corridor leading to her destination, she heard a loud creak coming from the floorboard. Part of her thought it was much too loud to be a natural old house noise, and the other scolded herself for being so silly.

Continuing on, Stephanie glanced down at her notes. She was sure she was close to solving the…

Another creak, closer this time. Stopping in her tracks, she spun round. She wasn’t sure if it were someone trying to freak her out, or steal clues and information from her. Either way, she wasn’t impressed.

“Who’s there?” she barked, irritation coming off her in waves. “I know you’re there. It’s impossible to creep around in these old houses. Something will always give you away. And when I catch you, I’m not going to be happy.”

There was no response. Shaking her head, she went on her way. If someone wanted to play silly tricks that was their prerogative, though it clearly would’ve been a more suitable idea for tomorrow. Tonight was murder mystery, tomorrow was trick or treat. Didn’t they know the difference?

Entering the library, she was immediately in awe. Letting out an audible “ahh,” she was in love. The large room had bookshelves lining all four walls from floor to ceiling, with a series of ladders dotted about for those tomes that were out of reach. She was actually kind of surprised they let the general public in here, unsupervised. The books looked old, very old, and valuable. Obviously, she wasn’t going to damage any of them, but she also knew not everyone would have such consideration.

Having done two admiring laps of the room, peering at all the books and wishing she could have her own library just like it, she remembered why she was here. Clues. Yes. Large bay windows were at each end, and each nook had a sofa and a table.

She headed to the area farthest from the door and began to search. She wasn’t entirely sure what she was looking for, but then, if it were too simple, the game wouldn’t likely be a “mystery.”

As she riffled through a sheaf of assorted papers, Stephanie heard another noise.

Less of a creak this time, but more of a swish. She now knew someone was definitely following her. They must be after her information, because if they were genuinely planning to search the library, they’d have just walked right on in and announced themselves.

Putting the papers down, she grabbed her own notes and sat on the sofa. It was surprisingly squishy, and she made a noise of surprise as she sank into it, her feet barely touching the floor. She felt grateful she wasn’t wearing a skirt or dress at that point, otherwise, she’d probably be flashing her knickers to…well, absolutely nobody. No one had entered the room. Frowning, Stephanie resolved to sit there a little longer. The mystery person was close enough for her to hear the noise they were making, so they must be right outside the door, perhaps peering around the frame to see if they could see what she was doing.

She waited. And waited. Then, just as she started to disentangle herself from the sofa, a whirlwind entered the room. Or at least, a very whirlwind-like Jenny did. She ran as fast as her heels would allow and dashed into the room, whipping her head around to look behind her. She shoved herself forcefully off the seat and ran toward

Jenny, ready to get very annoyed with whoever chased her as she could tell her girlfriend was genuinely terrified. Turning to face the door, she saw nothing. By now, even she began to wonder if there was any truth to the haunting rumours.

Saturday Spankings #15 – #SatSpanks

Saturday Spankings-467x200I’m excited to be taking part in Saturday Spankings for the first time! This is basically a hop where authors post eight-ish sentences from a spanking book and link back to the other authors taking part. I’m recycling this snippet, taken from my short story, Naughty Delivery:

As Sonia turned to do Ben’s bidding, he aimed a sharp smack at her rounded bottom, causing her to squeal and leap onto the bed. She spread-eagled herself quickly before any more spanks could be laid on her arse. As she watched for Ben’s next move, she felt the skin he’d struck grow warm and tingly. It wasn’t an unpleasant sensation, but Sonia suspected there hadn’t been much force behind the blow. Nevertheless, her pussy grew warmer at the thought of more force being applied.

Ben, still fully dressed, climbed onto the bed and picked up the wrist restraints. Shuffling up towards Sonia’s head, he knelt by her side, examining the cuffs to see how they worked. Soon, he slipped Sonia’s hand inside the faux-fur lined leather and did up the fastenings.

I hope you enjoyed that snippet! You can grab the book here. And then see the below list to hop to the other authors taking part…

Oh No She Didn’t!

Oh no I didn’t?  Oh yes I did!  I wrote Adam and Sheree’s Family Vacation: a book so vile, so filthy, so taboo that it was banned by Amazon and many other retailers.

You’d think I’d have learned my lesson.  Amazon is the world’s biggest seller of ebooks, right?  If they won’t carry it, isn’t that like throwing months of hard work down the drain?  Wouldn’t you think a clever, business-conscious writer would pack it in and write something a little tamer?

Well, I guess I’m an idiot because… I wrote another one.

Adam and Sheree's Family BusinessThe sequel to Adam and Sheree’s Family Vacation is called Adam and Sheree’s Family Business, and it’s every bit as sordid as the first.  No, it’s more sordid.  Not only does the sequel feature shockingly explicit sex between a brother and sister, it includes all the dirty details of how Sheree drags her brother Adam (and all three of his college housemates!) into her fledgling porn business.

So why on earth would I write a book that’s 100% guaranteed to get banned by Amazon?  Their rules are clear: they don’t allow erotic content that includes sex between blood relatives.  Same goes for ebook retailers like All Romance and BookStrand.  Even if I am lucky enough to work with a publisher that welcomes taboo content, am I stupid or what?  I’ve now written two novellas readers’ go-to online bookshop refuses to carry.

Yeah, I’d say I’m pretty stupid.

But there’s something about censorship that gets my goat.  Maybe I didn’t rebel enough as a teenager, I don’t know, but when I hear there’s something the Amazonian Amazon WILL NOT ALLOW… well, I can’t help but wonder why. Why can’t I write an erotic story about a sexual relationship between two consenting adults?

Well, there’s an easy answer: because they’re siblings. And that’s just not permissible.

Remember when Flowers in the Attic came out and everyone in your class at school read it before the parental units found out why the kids always had their faces shoved in a book?  Is Amazon now the scolding parent we writers are looking out for over our shoulders while we work?

And, speaking of Flowers in the Attic, why is Amazon totally cool about carrying a popular incest book by a bestselling author, but they won’t carry books by low-grossing writers like me (and maybe you, if you’re an author too)?  Who gets to dictate what constitutes literary merit? Why does explicit fiction get so brutally castigated? Can’t a book be smutty and thought-provoking?

These are the questions I ask myself while cutting coupons and praying my rent cheque doesn’t bounce.

Sibling incest is an uncomfortable topic, but that’s why so many readers find it titillating.  The more Big Daddy Amazon says YOU CAN’T READ THAT, the more we want to.  Same goes for writers.  Tell us we can’t explore a topic, and going to write the holy hell out of it.

Adam and Sheree’s Family Vacation, as well as its brand new sequel Adam and Sheree’s Family Business, may not be available from Amazon, but you CAN purchase them at eXcessica’s EDEN website and Barnes & Noble.

Hump Day Hook No. 27 #HDH

humpdayhookHi everyone and welcome to Hump Day Hook, which is basically where authors post a paragraph from a WIP or a published work to show it off to the world. This week, I’m sharing a snippet from my new release, Rubenesque erotic romance novella, Mean Girls.

As usual, Adele Blackthorne felt the weight of gazes on her as she walked from the changing room to the steps to get into the swimming pool. She was used to it by now, and had learned not to react, to just carry on as though she hadn’t noticed people staring and not-so-subtly pointing at her.

With a polite nod to Oliver, the lifeguard, as she passed him, Adele was grateful for his much more favorable reaction. If he thought she resembled a beached whale, he hid it much better than everyone else did. The warmth in his eyes as he nodded back even looked genuine. But she had no illusions, he probably slagged her off the moment he got into the staffroom, or home, talking about the fat woman who went swimming three times a week without fail. But for now, she’d pretend he didn’t. Pretend he thought she was sexy, and wanted to get lost in her abundant curves. God knows she’d like him to.

Want more? Of course you do! Here’s the page  for Mean Girls. And click here to go and visit the rest of the Hump Day Hook gang. Leave us comments about our pieces – we love it! 🙂

A Bit of Rough and A Menu with a Difference Re-released!

Hi everyone,

I’m just popping by to let you know that two of my books have been re-released. I’ve kept pretty quiet about the whole Noble Romance debacle, but now it’s all over and I have my rights back, I’m happy. Two of the books I got back, A Menu with a Difference and A Bit of Rough have just been re-released with Tirgearr Publishing. Their covers are similar (which I’m pleased about, as I love both those covers) and they’ve been re-edited. I’m very happy to have these two short stories back on the market.

The two other pieces I got rights back to won’t be so quick to reappear. I want to rewrite and extend them both, so I’ve got to try and squeeze that in amongst all my other projects, of which there are many!

So, here’s the skinny on my two re-releases:

A Menu with a Difference

Will a weekend in a luxury hotel make Annette’s deepest fantasies come true?

When Jed and Annette spend a weekend in a luxury hotel, they’re planning to take full advantage of the hot tub and large bed – preferably with a third party. Annette’s never been with another woman before, but she’s eager to experience some Sapphic delight. When the couple meets waitress Tamara at the restaurant they’re lunching at, they agree she’s perfect in many ways; but is she on the menu?

A Bit of Rough

When Alison meets Andrew, she instantly pegs him as a moron. He’s a total bad boy and does nothing but chain smoke and brag about his stream of past conquests. Yet, much to her confusion, Alison still finds herself attracted to him. She’s not had sex in a while, so Alison figures there’s no harm in going home with him to get herself a bit of rough.

New Release: Mean Girls

Hi all,

Just a quick note to announce my new release – I’m very excited! Mean Girls is out today. It’s a Rubenesque erotic romance novella that’s just released as part of Ellora’s Cave’s Curve Appeal range. Here’s the blurb:

Adele Blackthorne is a big girl, a curvy chick. She knows it, and she’s been picked on all her life because of it. But she’s gotten to the stage where she doesn’t care. She may be Rubenesque, but she’s healthy, too. Much healthier than the mean girls at the leisure center that point and stare and say spiteful things about her. Adele rises above it all, and simply enjoys her secretive glances at the center’s hunky lifeguard, Oliver.

As the bullying of Adele becomes worse, Oliver finds it increasingly difficult not to intervene. He doesn’t want to get into trouble with work, but equally he can’t stand to see Adele treated in such a horrible way. Especially since he doesn’t agree that she’s fat and unattractive. He thinks she’s a seriously sexy woman, and would like to get to know her better. Much better.
