Divided We FallBlurb

Linh’s three year old brother has wandered out of Viet Village into Niggertown. Despite the danger, she has no choice but to go looking for him in hostile territory. She manages to convince the rifle-toting guard at the entrance to the black ghetto to help her search, using a mixture of bribery and bravado. As they comb the desolate streets of Niggertown, seeking any trace of Duy, Linh discovers that the barrio’s inhabitants aren’t necessarily the violent, drug-addled brutes she’s been taught to hate, and by the time Linh and Steel have rescued the injured toddler and spent a long night hiding in a derelict building, she has come to understand who are their real enemies.

Excerpt

It feels natural to move from eating to kissing. Giggling like kids, we lick the jerky grease from each other’s lips. His are full and plump, softer than Hai’s, but his stubble scratches my cheeks in a way no Viet man’s ever would. I seal his mouth with mine, tasting the sweet-tart remnants of his tomatoes. He threads his fingers through my hair, tugging at the roots while he consumes me. Each strand is a fuse, lighting firecrackers in my pussy.

I open to his probing tongue and give him control, at least for a while. Steel plunges deeper, thrusting hard, fucking me already though we’re still dressed. The thought arouses me so much I take back the initiative. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I use my weight to push him back onto the piled bedding. My lips slide away from his. I lap at his prickly chin, nibble along his jawline, plant tiny kisses at the pulse point of his throat. Gradually I work my way down his hairless, sticky chest, tasting tomato juice and sweat. When I run my tongue along the scar, he groans and grabs my ass, arching up to grind his swollen bulk against my clit. That makes me moan, at least until he flips me over and silences me with more kisses.

Hands in the darkness—my hands, his hands—fumble with zippers, claw at waistbands, shred the fabric we can’t push out of the way.  Finally, there’s skin and heat and hardness, his cock an apt fit to his name, sliding into my liquid center. He moves like a vast wave, surging, cresting, breaking inside me, then gathering power once again. I rock on the swell of his relentless, delicious rhythm. Sometimes I drift, letting the pleasure sweep me out to sea. Sometimes I fight, gasping for breath, drowning in raw sensation.

The Writing Experiment by K D Grace (@kd_grace)

When I wrote Toys for Boys, I had already been playing around with placing myself in the story as writer, as scribe. Because I’d walked the Wainwright Coast to Coast, and because I remembered those days when all I wanted at the end of the day was to be warm and dry and asleep in my bed, I already had common ground with Doc and Will and their trials. Writers are always voyeurs to some extent. Certainly we’re always people watchers. And quite often we feel like we’re doing little more than reporting our characters’ stories as they whisper them in our ear. When that happens, it’s always amazing, the unexpected directions a story can take.

I wanted to bring that experience of the characters telling their story to the forefront of Toys for Boys and make it a literal part of the story – sort of share with the reader what we writers experience with our characters on a daily basis. I was very lucky because Will and Doc were more than happy to share.

Toys for BoysHigh tech meets low tech in a wilderness adventure that sizzles.

Toys for Boys Blurb:

Alpha nerd Will Charles teams up with Caridoc ‘Doc’ Jones in a coast to coast walk across England reviewing outdoor gift suggestions for the Christmas edition of Toys for Boys—an online magazine dedicated to the latest gadgets to tickle a man’s fancy. Will is recording their adventures with the latest smart phone technology. Doc is reviewing the latest outdoor gear. The two quickly discover the great outdoors provides even better toys for boys, toys best shared al fresco, toys that, in spite of Will’s great camera work, will never be reviewed in Toys for Boys.

Excerpt:

In that drowsy disconnected place between sleep and wakefulness, Doc was aware of only two things; the warm, hard body he held against his chest in a spoon position, and the fact that his hard-on was pressed up nice and tight between the pillowed muscles of two firm arse cheeks, Will fucking Charles’ arse cheeks and, damn if he wasn’t shifting and shoving against the bloke like some horny dog.

Suddenly he was wide awake as the events of the past day came flooding back to him. He stopped moving, stopped breathing, feeling the beat of his heart in the leaden weight of his balls. He lay with one arm folded beneath his head like a plucked chicken wing, and just as goose bumped for being outside the warmth of the sleeping bag. He held Will secure against his body with the other arm, which curved low over Will’s hip, low enough that he could cup the man’s sac in his palm. The soft tickle of pubic curls against his fingertips assured him, to his horror, that was exactly what he was doing.

Before he could withdraw from the bloke’s personal space, Will fucking Charles shifted slightly and Doc not only found his erection pressed even tighter between clenching buttocks, but the man’s cock was suddenly in full contact with his groping hand, too hard, too warm and silky smooth for him to ignore. Before he could make a conscious decision of what to do, Will made the choice for him, moaning in some dream, which Doc could only imagine was partly responsible for the urgency of the bloke’s hard-on. He shifted again and curled his fingers, vice-grip tight around Doc’s, effectively securing his clench on his penis, demonstrating how he liked to be touched, then he began to thrust with purpose in and out of Doc’s hand.

Fucking hell! Doc was not about to take advantage of a sleeping man, no matter how tempting. He held his breath, held dead still, which took a gargantuan amount of concentration, the ache in his own cock at least as urgent. He’d never be able to explain the situation to Will if he woke up like this. It was taking advantage. His thoughts flashed on the shivering, nearly incoherent, man he’d held to him last night, praying to all the gods of the great outdoors that his body heat would bring the man’s temperature up. And just when he was about run the risk of embarrassing both of them by waking Will, the bloke once again took the choice out of his hands, quite literally, by moving his own hand down to cup his cock himself.

Doc jerked away a little more quickly than he intended. Will caught his breath and thrust back against Doc’s aching load, and that was it. Doc was scrambling out of the sleeping bag, battling with the zip to the tent, holding on with all the self-control he had.

“You all right?” Will’s sleepy voice called after him as he shoved his way out of the tent.

“Gotta pee,” he managed, which was the truth, but nothing was going to happen until he took care of more urgent needs. He managed half a dozen steps, tripped over a tree root and went down on one knee in the wet leaf litter.

“Fuck me!” he heard Will gasp from behind him. But it didn’t matter. It didn’t matter if he suddenly found himself on a stage in the West End amid a line of dancing girls doing the can-can for a packed house. Urgent had become critical and there was nothing to do but hold on for dear life and let nature take its course. Jerking at his cock with a choke hold—one thrust, two, and three, and his whole body tightened and convulsed. Vesuvius erupted. And kept erupting until he feared the effort would turn him inside out. Even as the chill of morning bathed his back in goose flesh, the front of his body still held the heat, the muscle memory of clenching Will tight against him.

“Fuck me sideways!”

Breathing like a hurricane, Doc fell back on his arse in the wet grass and looked up to see Will fucking Charles standing bare arsed in front of the tent having his own eruption in one hand while the other aimed the goddamned urBrain at Doc.

When Will had finished shooting his wad, he knelt and wiped his hand on the wet grass. “That was the hottest thing I’ve ever seen,” he managed, still struggling to breathe. His eyes were bright with mischief, and his lips parted in just such a way that Doc had a sudden urge to bite the bottom one before he covered that mouth with his own. That desire was quickly superseded, however, by the urge to throttle the bastard.

“I should have left you outside to freeze your balls off last night.” Doc forced his way to his feet.

“Oh God, you have to see this, mate.” Will was already watching the playback.

“Fuck you, William! This isn’t over.” As an afterthought, he reached out and viciously pinched the man’s nipple, which was chilled to a hard peak from the slight morning breeze. The catch of breath and the little hiss of pain caused his cock to surge again. “This isn’t over, you bastard.”

“I’m counting on it!” Will called after him.

He headed down to the stream to clean up. “And if you point that thing at me again, I’ll make you eat it.”

“If you’re talking about urBrain, well I suppose I could try. I’m pretty good at opening my throat. But if you’re talking about this,” he reached down and waved his cock in a rude gesture. “Afraid I’m gonna have to rely on you for that.”

Fucking hell, if the man kept it up, Doc was gonna need another wank before they even got to breakfast.

He caught a hint of hearty laughter before he stepped into the icy stream, and in spite of the awkward wake-up call, he found himself smiling too. The man had thrown down the gauntlet and then given him permission to play. This walk was really looking up.

Wednesday on Thursday: Coffee, Words and Sex by Kay Jaybee (@kay_jaybee)

I have never made a secret of my love of coffee. I can’t function without a generous cup of Americano- black and hot- first thing in the morning. There is certainly no way I could get my words down without its magic imagination enhancing qualities. Caffeine is my addiction of choice…

…apart from words. You could easily make a case for claiming that I am equally addicted to words and writing. I am fascinated by words. How they can about, the way we use them, and the power they have. They are, without doubt, the most powerful weapons on earth. Used thoughtlessly, they can cause great hurt and harm; break hearts, minds and start wars. Used well, and the results can be beyond rewarding.

The inspiration behind my new novella, Wednesday on Thursday, came from my belief in the power of words. What would happen, I wondered, if someone became obsessed with how individuals react to certain words when used in certain situations? Certain erotic situations.

I extended this thought a little by asking myself what might happen if that fascination with behaviour reactions to words was observed through a serious of experiments conducted via crossword puzzles and quizzes.

At this point you may be worrying about how much thinking I do- or you may want to read the blurb.

Wednesday on ThursdayBlurb

There are rumours that the coffee guy has “a thing” about words.

Shrugging off her friend’s concern about the way the man in the cafe stares at her every lunch hour, Wednesday can’t see how his love of words could possibly be hazardous.

The fact is, Wednesday rather enjoys being the centre of an attractive man’s undivided attention. His dark blue eyes alone have provided her with many delicious erotic fantasies, a welcome distraction from the pressures of the real world and a dull job.

It’s totally harmless…

…until there’s an accident with a cup of coffee.

After soaking Wednesday with a hot latte, the coffee guy’s attention suddenly becomes far more enticing—and dangerous.

Drawn into a bizarre world of human behavioural research, where crosswords are used to initiate sexual experiments, Wednesday finds herself driven, not by a desire to further scientific research, but by the need to be rewarded for her hard work by the coffee guy’s captivating research assistant.

A stunning redhead by the name of Thursday…

This novella, as the blurb reveals, is a work that combines everything I love. Coffee, cafes (I write all my stories in my local cafe) and words- not to mention sex. Quite partial to that as well – and if pushed, I rather like redheads…

Here is a little taster from Wednesday on Thursday to whet the appetite.

Chapter One

His hands moved so fast that Wednesday didn’t register what was happening until her top was by her ankles. A large palm came to her neck. She was pinned to the spot, and her bra was tugged down until it lodged beneath her breasts. Then a pair of masculine lips greeted her right nipple.

A delicious wave of climactic shock spun her head with images of what the man with the dark blue eyes might do once he tired of feasting on her chest. Of what it would be like to experience his agile tongue lapping at her pussy, over her butt, around her…

‘Wednesday!’

Snapping out of her recurring fantasy, Wednesday Taylor blushed. ‘Sorry, Carol. I was thinking.’

‘Again?’ Carol smiled. ‘Come on, who is it that’s captured your imagination and lured it away from the paradise of data input? Every time I look at you you’re miles away.’

‘No one. I was planning a holiday.’

‘If you expect me to believe that, then you must think me blind as well as stupid.’ Perching on the edge of Wednesday’s desk, Carol shoved a pile of papers to one side. ‘It’s that guy from the café, isn’t it?’

‘Which guy?’ Wednesday deliberately kept her eyes on her screen.

‘Come off it, Nez. The one who can’t take his eyes off you. Until you take a quick look at him, that is. Then he studies his espresso cup with an expression that suggests he’s trying to work out its molecular structure.’

‘The man to whom you are referring sits in a corner.’ Wednesday flapped away the suggestion with a wave of her hand. ‘He is automatically observing everyone because his seat oversees the entire cafe. I really was contemplating the advantages of Portugal over Spain.’

Carol rolled her eyes and sighed. ‘If you say so, but be careful.’

‘Use a high factor sun screen on the beach, you mean?’

Getting to her feet, Carol seemed to give up on her pursuit of gossip. ‘Seriously, there are rumours about that bloke. He makes me uneasy.’

Winking playfully, Wednesday said, ‘Rumours? Do tell.’

‘I’m serious! Apparently he has this “thing” for words.’

Putting inverted commas around the word “thing” with her hands as she replied, Wednesday laughed. ‘A “thing” for words. Now that is scary. If you’d said he had a “thing” for sharp blades, I’d have been worried.’

‘I’m serious. It’s weird. He doesn’t just watch the women that appeal to him; he sort of visually dissects them. It’s like he’s hunting for something. Or someone.’

Waiting until Carol had returned to her work, Wednesday opened the top drawer of her desk and stared at the napkin she’d slipped in there an hour ago.

That lunchtime, as usual, Wednesday had been trying not to make it obvious that she was watching the coffee guy as he was watching her, when he’d surprised her by a break in his routine. He had got up to leave the cafe exactly two minutes earlier than usual.

As he passed her table en route to the exit he’d almost brushed her shoulder, but not quite. After dropping a napkin lightly onto her lap without uttering a word of explanation, he’d walked out of the door and disappeared into the afternoon.

Back in the safety of her office, regarding the folded serviette as if it were an unexploded bomb, Wednesday felt her palms prickle with perspiration. By comparison, her throat had gone Sahara dry. Even though he hadn’t looked at her as he’d passed by, Wednesday had the strangest sensation that his inkwell eyes saw straight into her soul. That somehow the coffee guy knew what her late night dreams were about.

And who they featured.

Checking to make sure that Carol wasn’t watching her, Wednesday unfolded the note and read the neat looped writing.

I would very much like to see you, Wednesday, on Thursday. I need to check you weren’t burnt. Regards.

Thursday? That’s tomorrow. But when tomorrow? Did he mean he wanted to apologise for spilling the coffee? If so, why hadn’t he said so before? The accident was days ago. And what did he mean by I need to check?

Wednesday pictured the coffee guy steering her into the nearest secluded area of town, trapping her between a wall and his six foot frame, ripping open her shirt, passing his gaze over her pale flesh to check for burn marks…

A sudden tightening of her chest made Wednesday drop the note and slam her desk drawer shut. If she carried on like this, not only would she fail to get anything done, but she’d be sat in damp panties for the rest of the workday.

Again.

Excerpt

“Before we go, there is something I have been meaning to do for quite a long time, Corrine.”

“Oh?”

Braxas let go of her hand as well, and she looked from one to other with suspicion.

“I think you need to be reassured that you belong to Braxas and me. That we are both fully committed to you.”

“I believe you,” she threw in quickly. Braxas assumed that she did not need her seer abilities to know where this was heading.

Gabe however, continued as if she hadn’t spoken. He held up his right hand in a fist, his knuckles facing forward and popped his forefinger up. “You ran from us.” Next up came his middle finger. “You didn’t tell us where you were going.” His ring finger followed. “You lied.” Then his pinky. “You’re very haughty.” And finally his thumb. “You are way too stubborn for your own good.” He tilted his now open and raised palm to the right, poised to strike a particularly beautiful derriere.

“Anything else?” she responded in exactly the haughty manner that Gabe’s fourth finger had coincided with.

Gabe smiled slyly. “That’s reason enough for now.” He lowered his hand and placed it on his knee. “Hike up your dress and come lie across my knees.”

Corrine leaped to her feet. “So you can spank me like some wayward child? I think not.”

“No, so I can spank you like a lover spanks his woman when she aggravates the hell out of him.”

Corrine’s mouth opened on a silent O, and a blush swept over her face and neck. Braxas inhaled her sweet scent of arousal and felt the pressure of his cock straining against the zipper of his jeans. Gods, he wanted to be inside of her. “That shade of rose looks lovely on your cheeks.”

Corrine’s head whipped in his direction. “You’re just going to let him do this to me?”

Braxas chuckled. “Let him? Hell, I encourage him. I have no doubt that all three of us are going to enjoy it immensely.” He smiled widely at her. “Especially if that lovely rose color blooms across your ass as well.”

She opened her mouth as if she had something to say, but shut it just as quickly. She took one step towards Gabe and paused, looking from one to the other. Braxas knew she was excited by the prospect of being spanked by Gabe while he watched, but he also sensed her trepidation. In the end, fear won out, and their little doe, temporarily mesmerized by headlights, broke her own spell and bolted out the door.

Gabe stared at the empty doorway as he spoke. “Tell me something, Braxas. Do cougars like the chase as much as wolves do?”

Braxas smiled widely again, but more for himself since Gabe still stared straight ahead. “Indeed we do.”

It took only a few seconds before the pair of them, in unison, chased after her.

About Sarah Marsh:

Sarah Marsh was born in British Columbia where she still lives. She has only recently began her writing career, finding it the perfect outlet for taking the edge off a nine to five office job. She’s been a science fiction and romance junkie for years and when her imagination started to take the characters she’d read about even further in their adventures, she decided to try writing something of her own.

Sarah’s also a former pastry chef and spends a lot of time cooking and baking for friends and family as well as painting and knitting. Her biggest weaknesses are animals of any kind … she even loves the ones that wake you up at four in the morning because they can almost see the bottom of their food dish.

When it comes to life in general, she’s a big believer that laughter is the best medicine and that there’s no such thing as too much love, which is why she’s such a sucker for a happy ending.

Matt busied himself with straightening the counter space and trying not to watch Jacen. Fuck. How could he not? The man featured in his dreams and had become his favorite spank bank material. He swept his gaze over Jacen. The denim shorts hugged his hips and accentuated the strength in his legs. Jacen rubbed the back of his neck with his fingers and flexed his upper body.

Jesus. Was Jacen trying to turn him on? If so, he’d accomplished his mission. Matt plopped onto the stool and pressed his knees together. Blood rushed to his cock and his mouth watered. Just a few touches. Kisses. He didn’t want much. Really.

“Mother fucker.” Jacen whipped around and held his phone in a white-knuckled grasp as he strode back to the desk. “He’s a piece of shit. Where are those peas?”

Matt offered up the bag. “Whoever it is, I hope you lit into him.” He shut the laptop down, then moved the device to the lower portion of the counter. “Better pick up your key before you forget.” He slid the card across to Jacen. “Have a good night…well, a better one than you’ve had so far.”

“Huh?” Jacen glared at Matt and plunked the bag back onto his bruise. “Are you here all night? I thought Cady hired on people to work the desk so you and her weren’t stuck.”

“She did, but this is my night. I have to earn my keep somehow.” He grinned to hide his displeasure. “I can’t feed my music and running habits without some source of income.”

Jacen tucked his phone into his pocket and lingered at the counter. “Want some company? I came here to work on music, yeah, but that wasn’t the only reason.” He offered up the bag. “I’ve melted this.”

“I’ll stick it back in the freezer. No problem.” He gripped the melting frozen food. “Stick around a moment in case anyone comes in and I’ll put it back.” He left Jacen alone long enough to put the peas in the fridge. He’d probably make them for lunch the next day instead of wasting them. When he returned, Jacen had rounded the counter.

“All good?” Jacen asked.

“I’ve got lunch for tomorrow.” He tensed. “Thanks for holding down the fort.” He expected Jacen to leave, but instead, he crept closer to Matt.

“I didn’t just return for Rory and the music. I came here for you, too.”

“Me?” He frowned. “What?” He had to be hearing Jacen wrong. No way Jacen meant that.

“Uh, yeah. You.”
