A Little Show & Tell with A.M. Hartnett

Uncover MeA little show & tell …

“She didn’t think of it as porn.”

That’s the first line of my current release from Mischief. Uncover Me is about exhibitionist sex blogger Carrie, and certainly she doesn’t think of her pictures as porn. As is evident to one of her most avid readers and soon-to-be eager lover, Brendan, the pictures say something about the woman in the pictures. A still frame sets the scene — a woman in stockings brandishing a paddle, or lounging naked in her bed on a Sunday — and lets the story of her alter-ego, Maggie, unfold in the reader’s mind.

Brendan sees something else, something more.

With Brendan’s introduction into her life, and ultimately as a second player at her blog, the story of Maggie becomes the story of Carrie, the woman who had her heart broken and by letting another person into her most personal sanctuary, Dirty Pictures, begins to feel something more than mistrust.

Excerpt

Under the table, he slipped his hand between her legs. Comfortable with this more discreet play, Carrie parted for him and sighed as he stroked through her panties.

The waitress returned and he leaned back, but he still played with her as dessert, Brendan’s coffee and Carrie’s tea were laid out.

‘We could take the dessert to go,’ she said, and swallowed a gasp when he slipped his fingers beneath the band of fabric covering her pussy.

‘I don’t want dessert to go. I want to sit here and watch your reaction from the first mouthful to the last.’ He slowly circled her clit, his smile quirking at the corner as she shuddered, then leaned closer. ‘Take your time. I know I will.’

‘None for you?’

‘Not yet. After.’ He leaned in again, his mouth close to her ear. ‘Have a taste.’

Carrie touched her forehead to his and giggled. ‘You’re a very bad man.’

‘That is a very ungrateful attitude. Eat.’

Her fingers trembled as she picked up her spoon and dipped into the dessert. Meeting his stare, she brought it to her lips and smiled.

His gaze travelled down to her mouth as he slid his fingers to the hot mouth of her pussy. Carrie held her breath as he pushed deeper, until he was buried to the knuckle, and then closed her legs to keep him there.

She licked the tip of the spoon for her first taste and could have fainted from the rush of pleasure that swept over her as the succulent concoction melted on her tongue. She closed her eyes and moaned, then moaned again as he flexed his fingers.

‘Is it good, baby?’ he whispered, and curled his fingers against the sweet spot.

‘So good,’ she murmured and sucked the rest from the spoon.

She placed her fingers over her mouth as she swallowed, holding in a second moan as he rolled his thumb over her clit.

He withdrew, fingers spreading her with every inch. ‘The first taste is the best. The first time I had it, I actually got hard.’

She scooped up another spoonful and took a deep breath. ‘Are you hard now?’

‘What do you think?’ He shifted in his seat and moved closer as she took another mouthful. Two fingers slid on either side of her clit, and Carrie shuddered as she swallowed.

Another spoonful, another spiral of pleasure darting from where his fingers worked her as she gobbled it down.

The buzz of voices around them faded, replaced by the thump of her pulse. The candlelit room had been so cosy moments ago, but now it was sweltering.

She held up the spoon between them. ‘You sure you don’t want some? Only a few more bites left.’

He shook his head. ‘All for you.’

Blurb

The photos are becoming a compulsion for Carrie. As soon as she wakes up, she feels the need to engage with the readers of her erotic website, Dirty Pictures. No matter how hard she tries to focus on her real life the need is always there. The high is knowing that men desire her.

One day a comment on her erotic website makes Carrie go cold: one of her readers, Brendan, has recognised a landmark in the window of one of her pictures. Brendan knows where to find her and has sent a tantalising private message. His invitation to play was so tempting in no time at all, in a variety of settings, their sensual adventures become wild. Her sexual and emotional reawakening reaches peaks she never imagined possible.

“Are you hungry?” He asked because her belly growled loudly enough to attract pirates on the mainland.

“A little.” She licked her lips. “But I’m really thirsty.”

He pulled out the straw of his CamelBak and leaned forward, holding it to her lips. He should have shuttled off all his gear and just handed the damn thing to her because when she leaned in close and he got a whiff of her, he nearly passed out. You would think a woman who had been held prisoner by filthy pirates for nearly a week would smell bad. She did not. She smelled like heaven. There was a light musky odor of sweat—it was hot in the tropics—but it twined with something that was essentially female.

He’d never felt such hunger. It screamed through his soul.

And, on top of that, their faces were close. And she was sucking on the nozzle. And fuck. He was a warrior. A trained weapon. On a mission.

This was no time for a hard on.

But he was hard. Damn hard.

Her lashes flickered as she glanced up at him; she moaned as she swallowed. A shiver walked down his spine. Walked right down his spine and coiled in his balls.

When she sat back with a sigh, he put the nozzle to his lips as well. Not because he was particularly thirsty, but because he wanted a taste of her mouth, while it was still fresh.

What he really wanted was to kiss her. But she was the senator’s daughter and he was a grunt. That wasn’t going to happen. It couldn’t.

“Did…did you say something about food?” Damn lashes. Fluttering again. He had the urge to grab his Gerber and snip them off.

He pulled an MRE from a pocket on his left leg, read the label, and grimaced. He hated the meatloaf. He should have paid more attention when he prepped his gear. He had more in his pack, but this would do for now. “I have this.”

Her nose wrinkled as she studied the silver foil.

Yeah. Wait ’til she got a taste. He ripped open the packet, broke off a piece, and handed it to her. It was messy, because of the gravy, but he didn’t want to unload everything to find an implement. They needed to eat and go.

She took a bite. Her eyes widened. “Yuuum,” she said in an unconvincing tone.

It was all he could do to hold back his laugh.

“What…” She swallowed heavily. “What is this?”

“An MRE.”

“What does that stand for?”

His lips quirked. “Meals Rarely Edible.”

Her brow wrinkled, and then she laughed.

And ah, what a laugh. A melodic trill. Some kind of sound he figured you might hear in heaven.

“Do you eat these often?”

“Not if I can help it.” He shoved a chunk in his mouth and fired it back. “But we have a long way to go today, and these have a lot of calories.”

She froze, a niblette of mystery meat halfway to her mouth. “How-how many calories?”

“About twelve hundred a meal.”

She gaped at him. “Twelve hundred?” She glared at the meatloaf as though it were made of turds. Then again, it might have been. “And you gave it to me? To eat?”

“Yeah. You’ll need it.”

“Why didn’t you warn me?” She smacked him. It was like being batted by a kitten. “Twelve hundred calories is my whole day!”

He grinned. He could burn that much with a good fart. “Perfect. It’s probably all you’ll get. Eat up.”

“For twelve hundred calories, I could have eaten a cheesecake.”

He looked around for the cheesecake.

She shoved her tiny chunk of meatloaf at him. “Here, you eat it.”

He pushed it back. “You eat it. We have a lot of ground to cover today.”

“We do?” She tipped her head to the side. “Where are we going?”

“There’s an island to the south.” He grabbed a stick and sketched out a quick map. “We’re here. At the north end of this island. And the secondary extraction point is here.”

Her throat worked. “How will we get to the other island?”

“Swim.”

She paled. “I-I can’t swim.”

It was probably rude to stare. But really? She couldn’t swim? Who couldn’t swim? “You never wanted to learn?”

“Oh, I wanted to.” She sighed. “My mother was afraid I would drown.”

“Not drowning is kind of the point of swimming.”

“She wanted to keep me safe.” He didn’t miss the exasperation in her tone. “I didn’t get to do a lot of things. Which is probably why— And wouldn’t you know it? The first time?” She gazed at him as though she’d finished a sentence. As though he’d understood a bit of what she’d said.

“Well, don’t worry. We’ll get you home safe. And then everything will be just the way it was before.”

Her sudden frown mystified him.

The Encounter ~ The Agency by Jacey Holbrand

The EncounterI’m so excited! My story The Encounter is now available!

The Encounter is the first book in a series I’ve started called: The Agency. An ‘advertisement’ for The Agency goes something like this: “Seen a ghost? Have issues with a poltergeist? Experienced a close encounter? If you’ve come across something odd and don’t know what your next step is, call The Agency. We’re here to help you regarding your supernatural needs.”

Cool, right? (: I’m currently at work on the next few stories in this series, but for now check out The Encounter available from Evernight Publishing.

The Agency, 1

Evan ‘Zen’ Zenas is the top agent at The Agency and is known for his brusque demeanor. He’s also known to be tough on trainees. Those who find themselves under his tutelage usually don’t last long. When he’s assigned a new assistant, Seth Trivos, Zen’s faced with questions about his past he’s not too keen on answering.

Seth Trivos knew Evan once upon a time, loved him even, but when Evan disappeared, he unknowingly broke Seth’s heart. Now, he’s in Evan’s world as the newest recruit at The Agency, and he’s looking for answers.

Will Zen chase away another new assistant because he doesn’t want to open up about a past encounter or will being forced on a case together make him face the demons he’s been trying to hide from?

Be Warned: m/m sex

Excerpt

Zen threw his arms around him in a tight hold and claimed his mouth with wild abandon. Seth’s head reeled. He couldn’t believe he and Zen were kissing. Granted, it wasn’t anything like the soft moments and slow love making he’d imagined over the years, but he’d take what he could get at the moment.

Zen moved his hands up and down Seth’s back. The heated touch under his jacket and over his shirt seared his skin in a delightful way. Zen’s lips pressed upon his almost too violently. He swept his tongue out, forcing Seth to open his mouth.

Seth adored the taste of him, salty and spicy, and his scent of leather and earth as well.

God, for so long he’d waited to have Zen in his arms, his body close. Zen’s lips trailed down his neck. Seth reached up and cupped the back of Zen’s head. Zen pulled at his shirt, tugging it from the confines of his pants without breaking the kiss. In the process of kissing him, somehow Zen was able to unbutton and unzip both their pants and free their cocks out of the openings.

Desire rushed through Seth, clawing at his insides. Zen clutched at him like a drowning man scrambling for purchase on any floating thing to save him from the watery depths. Hands traveled over his shoulders, up his shirt, feeling all the nuances of his chest and back down to his rock-hard cock. The man held their dicks against each other, and Seth sucked in a long stream of air. The feel of their two satiny lengths rubbing together was a heady sensation.

Zen turned their bodies and laid them down. He stretched over Seth. Seth loved feeling the weight and heat of Zen’s strong body atop his. Still, Zen continued to kiss him, and he continued to surrender to the demand of Zen’s mouth.

An Interview with Elizabeth Morgan (@EMorgan2010)

Stepping Stones Tour BannerI’m delighted to be interviewing Elizabeth Morgan, where she’s dishing the dirt on her new and upcoming releases, celebrity crushes and her garden. Take it away, Elizabeth…

Tell us about yourself. Both your writing self and your non-writing self. What are your interests and hobbies? Do you have a day job, etc?

I’m Elizabeth Morgan and I’m a multi-published author of urban fantasy, paranormal, erotic horror, f/f and contemporary; all my stories have a degree of romance, a dose of action and usually a hit of sarcasm, sizzle or blood, but no matter what I give a unique and often humorous spin to my stories.

My secret identity resides in Cheshire, UK with my two cats Phantom & MJ – names after my fave musical; the phantom of the opera, and my fave musical artist; Michael Jackson. I do have a day job, but I don’t plan on staying there forever. Otherwise, I enjoy reading, watching films or good television shows, playing the sims, or I am usually in my garden growling at weeds, or planting seeds.

Give us the background on your latest release.

The idea for Stepping Stones came to me in a dream. I was Maggie, or rather in her shoes, the taxi I was in pulled up outside this beautiful church on the edge of a cliff. As soon as I got out of the taxi the bride comes running up to me; her maid of honour couldn’t make it so I needed to take her place. As you can imagine I wasn’t very happy about being her second choice or a last minute one, but I agreed.

The scene then jumps to me dressed in a bridesmaid dress walking down the aisle, and then me nearly going face first because my ex was the Vicar. Awkward. I am uncomfortable through the ceremony and as soon as it is over I try to get away from him only to bump into another man, but I’m angry at this one, hurt by him, confused. So I storm off. End of dream.

Well, there was a story there so I left the idea to stew in the back of my mind, and two years later I was ready to write it. I didn’t have a lot of research to do for this book, I just needed to find an area that had a church on the edge of a cliff or near the sea. So, naturally I was looking around the coast of the UK, which is how I came across Landewednack and Church Cove, which is where St Wynwallows is situated. Well, I loved the look of the church; this is where Maggie’s sister gets married, and the church her ex-fiancé is the Vicar too. I loved the area, and it all just seemed to fit perfectly for the story. So, once I had my church and my area I was good to go.

How did you get started with writing? And what was your route to publication like?

As a child I had always kept scrap books where I would copy quotes and segments of poems and stories I enjoyed, and as a young teenager I had a fan fiction site for one of my fave bands. So, the interest has always been there, but when I was eighteen I started writing scripts – mainly because I was studying musical theatre and we had the occasional assignment to write scripts etc – and then after a while I started sending them to theatre groups, but I had no luck. A friend of mind suggested I try writing a book as I would probably enjoy it more, and the detail – background info etc. – I was putting in scripts might not necessarily be seen. So, I was nineteen and a half when I decided to write a book.

I wrote a couple, sent them to friends and asked their opinions, looked over them and then submitted them. It took 50+ rejections and about two years before one of my manuscripts was accepted. So, my route wasn’t straight forward or easy, I did have moments where I wondered if I was wasting my time, or if I was any good at all; I wondered if I would truly be able to write more than one book, or write good books, but I have had every book that I have written since then accepted and so far readers have enjoyed my work, and I hope very much that they continue to.

What are you currently working on?

I’m currently in the middle of editing the first book in my urban fantasy series, Cranberry Blood (Blood Series: Book One.)

The novel – along with its prequel, She-Wolf – was originally published in 2011 and 2012, but after the publisher closed down and I received my edits back, I decided to self-publish the books and all that follow.

So, She-Wolf & Cranberry Blood will be re-released on August 25th. I will be starting book two in the series in the summer, once I finish my current WIP, which is a brand new fantasy romance.

Do you have a particular Muse for your writing? Do any of your characters bear startling resemblances to sexy celebrities or people you admire?

I never really have celebrities in my head when I am writing, and I never really compare characters in a physical sense to celebs once my stories are finished. Simply because I like readers to get their own image of each character, but I will say that in the case of Stepping Stones, Adrian looks a little like Matthew Goode, and Will looks a little like Orlando Bloom. They don’t look exactly like them, but if I were making the book into a movie I would go to those two actors first with an offer for those parts lol

Where do you see yourself in five years? Both writing-wise and non-writing-wise?

Writing-wise: still writing, I hope. I hope to have my Blood Series and Overseers series complete and be bringing new series out. I hope that I have gotten back in to the swing of writing on a regular basis as my personal life has made it difficult the last couple of years, and I hope to be connecting with more readers and bring y’all books that you really enjoy.

Non-writing-wise: I hope to be in a bigger house, and when I say bigger I mean I just want an office. I really need a room where I can keep all writing related materials; I need that creative space, which is untouched by anything else.

Otherwise, I hope to be writing full time so I don’t have to have a job alongside my chosen career, and well, I will be Thirty-one in five years, so hopefully I have found my prince charming by then. lol

And now for some silly questions…

Muscled or skinny? Muscled

Tall or short? Tall

Boxers or briefs? Boxers

Moustache or beard? Beard

Long hair or shaven head? Long hair

Tattoos or piercings? Tattoos

Intelligent or funny? Funny

Blond, brunette or red head? I don’t really mind what colour his hair is.

Hottest celebrity (tell us why, if you like)?
Justin Hartley. He played Green Arrow in Smallville. He just keeps getting better looking with age. He pulls really funny expressions and his smile makes me go weak at the knees.

Top same-sex crush (or opposite sex if you already like same-sex!)
I really like Emma Stone. I think she is funny, down-to-earth, and very pretty.

Most disliked celebrity (tell us why, if you like)
I’m not a fan of Beyonce. No idea why, but something about her has always bugged me.

Favourite food? Don’t have one. I love all types of food lol

Favourite book (tell us why, if you like.)
My fave book at the moment is The Spell of Summer by Dianna Hardy. It’s just an amazing, heartfelt, and hopeful story.

Favourite place in the world (tell us why, if you like.)
Currently it is my garden. Ha. I have spent a lot of time getting it tidy, pretty, and basically how I want it. So I like to sit and look at all my hard work.

Anything else you’d like to add?

I’ve had a lot of fun answering these questions. 🙂

Now give us the blurb, an extract and buy links for your latest release.

Excerpt:

“When is Aidy getting here?” Jessica grabbed the large bowl of scrambled eggs and brought it closer to her plate.

“I think his flight is due in at three.” My mother placed a dish of bacon on the table and took a seat beside me. “He will be in time for the wedding rehearsal; don’t worry.”

My stomach clenched. “Wedding rehearsal?” I coughed, trying to clear the chunk of toast lodged in my throat. “What wedding rehearsal?”

“Today at four. We’re running through the service.” Jess scooped egg onto her plate. “I told you.”

Nervous laughter bubbled in my throat and try as I may, I couldn’t stop shaking my head. “No.” I patted my chest. “No, you never mentioned a rehearsal.”

“Oh.” She placed the bowl back in the middle of the table. “I could have sworn I did.”

“Nope, you didn’t. Believe me, I would have remembered otherwise.” I grabbed my mug and knocked the coffee back before finishing my piece of toast.

“Well, it’s no big deal.” Edward took the bowl of eggs and helped himself. “Just a quick run-through.”

“Will everyone be there?” Forcing a smile on my face, I looked up at them both, hoping like hell my question would pass as innocent and genuine curiosity.

“Anyone who is involved in the wedding itself will be.”

Great. So that meant Jessica, Edward, the parents, and the bridesmaids, plus me. That left Adrian and…. “Will Vicar Taylor, be there?”

Oh God, did my voice just go higher?

“Yes, Margaret, William will be there. He is the one who is marrying Jessie and Edward, so he needs to be there.” My father skewered some bacon and tomatoes onto his fork.

Grimacing, I reached out and grabbed another piece of toast. “Just a question, Pa.” A stupid one, but a question nevertheless….
“It is normal for people to have wedding rehearsals, Margaret. Just because you—”

Jess picked up the coffeepot. “Does anyone want more coffee?”

I straightened, my focus fixed on Pa. “I’m aware of that.”

“Maggie?”

My father’s shoulders went rigid. He lifted his head and our gazes locked. I didn’t miss the way the muscle in the side of his neck ticked. Arguing with my father in front of Jessica and Edward was not an option, so I looked away.

“Please.” I held out my mug and Jess poured the dark liquid.

I could kick myself. A wedding rehearsal hadn’t even crossed my mind. Having to stand at the altar before William on the actual wedding day would be hard enough, but having to do it twice…my stomach churned.

“So, will Adrian come straight to the church?” Edward cut the awkward silence.

“Yes. He will get a taxi to the church, and then we will bring him and his luggage back here.” My mother held her mug out to Jess.

“Adrian is staying here? Tonight?” I added sugar to my coffee. “Won’t it be crowded? I thought—”

“No more crowded than it was in your childhood.” My father took a bite out of his toast.

More and more good news. Of course he would be staying here; it was his family home after all. I guess, it was stupid of me to hope that he would go to a B&B, but my parents wouldn’t have allowed it even if he did suggest it. I hadn’t seen him in six years, hadn’t spoken to him. And yet, in a couple of hours I would be locked in the same house as him.

Away from the computer, Elizabeth can be found in the garden trying hard not to kill her plants, dancing around her little cottage with the radio on while she cleans, watching movies or good television programmes – Dr Who? Atlantis? The Musketeers? Heck, yes! – Or curled up with her two cats reading a book.

Not Cadbury’s Drinking Chocolate – Inspiration for a Choccyrotica Story by Slave Nano

More Smut for ChocoholicsMore Smut for Chocoholics is a collection of erotic short stories edited by Tilly Hunter and Kevin Blisse on the theme of chocolate. The anthology is all about over-indulgence and taking wicked delight in the erotic consumption and use of chocolate.  It includes stories by Tilly Hunter, Victoria Blisse, Aurelia T Evans, Lucy Felthouse, Ruby Madsen, Jacqueline Brocker, Vanessa de Sade, Wendi Zwaduk, Jillian Boyd, Nicole Gestalt, Annabeth Leong and Anna Sky.

My contribution to More Smut for Chocoholics is a story called ‘Los Conquistadores and the Goddess of Chocolate’. The story is a humorous one and follows two adventurers, Juan and Alonso who, inspired by stories about the legendary Aztec city, desert from Cortez’s army of conquistadores to seek out an erotic paradise fuelled by the drink xocolatl made from the cacao bean. In the story Juan and Alonso get to sample the aphrodisiacal qualities of the Aztec beverage. But be warned, this drink is no Cadbury’s Drinking Chocolate!

Pouring chocolateIt was the Europeans who sweetened and lightened the drink by adding refined sugar and milk and it wasn’t until the 19th century when John Cadbury (why isn’t this man a saint!) developed an emulsification process to make solid chocolate to create the modern chocolate bar.

No, the Aztec version of drinking chocolate was a very different beast. The cocoa beans were ground to a powder and other ingredients, corn and spices such as chillies, were added. The resulting powder was mixed with cold water and stirred with a spoon until foam rose to the surface. The mixture would be poured from one ceramic vessel to another to enhance the foam. Sometimes it was prepared not as a beverage but with a texture more like porridge.

The resulting drink was dark, greasy, thick and bitter tasting. In fact, it sounds quite disgusting!

If you want to give it a try yourselves I’ve found a recipe for an authentic Aztec Chocolate Corn Drink:

¼ cup dry corn

1 Mexican vanilla bean (cooked in 1 cup water)

¼ lb cocoa beans, dark roasted

¾ cup honey

Dried chilli peppers to taste

Toast the corn in a dry frying pan and soak overnight in a cup of water. The next day grind the cocoa beans in a blender with enough hot water to form a sauce then mix in the honey and ground dried chillies. Boil the vanilla bean in a cup of water for about 10 minutes and add that to the corn and chocolate mixture. Blend all the ingredients together with icy water. The chillies are optional!

So, there you go – an authentic Aztec xocolatl as experienced by Juan and Alonso, the two conquistadores in my story. I’ve got to confess I’ve not tried the recipe myself. I think I’ll stick to a bar of Cadbury’s Dairy Milk!

Story extract

The high priestess had laid out ceramic vessels at the foot of the great statue of Ixcacao.  She had taken the red pods of the cocoa plant and ground their beans into a powder.  She blended a small amount of corn and other secret spices.  This was all mixed with water and stirred in the ceramic bowl until froth rose to the top of the mixture.  She poured the drink out into a set of smaller ceramic bowls decorated with the image of a jaguar-headed man.

“The xocolatl is prepared, “announced Ixquic.  “You must come forward and receive it.”

The two men were accompanied out of the plunge pool.  Alonso felt a bit disappointed; he was enjoying the attention of the girls, but Juan was eager with anticipation.  This was the moment he had been waiting for, the fulfilment of the erotic visions old Gonzalo had described to him.  The high priestess gestured to them to kneel in front of the statue of Ixcacao.

“You are privileged.  This is the food of the Goddess.”

She offered a bowl to each of them and at the foot of the statue and in the presence of her high priestess decorated in gold jewellery they took their first tentative sips.  At first they both pulled a face.  They didn’t know what to expect.  The beverage was thick, more like porridge than a drink.  It was greasy, dark and bitter.  They took a few more sips, conscious that this was clearly a ritual that should not be rushed and, in any case, the texture of the drink was such it could hardly be guzzled down.  It was Alonso who reacted first.

“Hmm, I’m not sure.  It’s a bit bitter.  I reckon if you added something to sweeten it and some milk to make it creamier and then squashed it down into little solid blocks you might be onto something.”

“Little blocks?  You come up with the most idiotic of ideas Alonso!”
