I’m a suspense-thriller writer. It’s where I live, my writer happy place. I’ve written in other genres, and will continue to. But erotic romance? Please. Not even on my radar…

Wait a second. Is that a challenge? Not a triple dog dare, but when it comes to writing, you almost never have to pull that card on me. And there’s never anything wrong with a sub-genre.

You mean I could write an erotic suspense thriller, where romance and sex is vital to the story, set in a city of my choosing? Well when you put it that way, I’m in.

And One Night in Boise was born. The writing was surprisingly easy. After all, if you are doing it right, sex is thrilling. There should be some suspense involved. Add a detective, a crime, a rebellious teenage son with something to prove and you have a Troy Lambert story wrapped in a slightly different package. The idea came to me almost fully formed by the first line:

“It’s a dangerous game we play.”

I read some erotica to get a flavor for the genre. Tough research, I know, but it had to be done. I read work by Lucy Felthouse, C. Margery Kempe, and others. Good writing is good writing, no matter what the genre or subject. I admit, I admire these ladies, and I wanted to write something even worthy of being in the same category as their work.

Because this isn’t just about One Night in Boise. It’s about One Night in Paris, One Night in Rome, One Night in New Orleans, One Night in San Francisco, and even more to follow. It’s about the City Nights Series from Tirgearr Publishing.

Troy began his writing life at a very young age, penning the as yet unpublished George and the Giant Castle at age six. He grew up in Southern Idaho, and after many adventures including a short stint in the US Army and a diverse education, Troy returned to Idaho, and currently resides in Boise.
