Winter Spanks: Cold Hands, Warm Bottoms

Brought to you by Spanking Romance Reviews & The Saturday Spankings Blog!

Thank you for joining us for Winter Spanks! Let’s warm up with some hot bottoms & cool prizes! Read on for a chance to win:

Welcome to the Winter Spanks: Cold Hands, Warm Bottoms blog hop! When I first signed up, I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to write about, because although I’ve written winter-themed stories and spanking stories, I haven’t yet combined the two. I must be honest, I’m really not a fan of the cold weather, not one little bit. I dislike being cold, dislike snow and ice, and am hoping for a lottery win so I can buy a house in Australia and live there for several months of the year! Knowing this, it’s probably no surprise to you that one of my favourite books that contains spanking is actually set in California in the summer. I’m sure you’ll forgive me for the lack of cold hands when you  meet Travis Connolly – a character in Grand Slam, a BDSM novel co-authored by myself and Lily Harlem. Here’s a spanking snippet.

I’d tip her off another time. Right now I was going to turn that beautiful arse bright red, and then who knew what would happen afterward? Something good, I hoped.

I looked around the room, giving myself a few seconds to get into the right frame of mind for what I was about do. Everyone else was immersed in their own activities, no one had even appeared to notice us enter. Perfect.

I stroked the dip of her back. This was supposed to be a punishment, but on the other hand, Marie was a total newbie and I didn’t want to scare her off to the extent that she’d pull out of our sexual arrangement.

Ooh, yum! 😀

So, now you’ve enjoyed some of Travis and Marie’s sexy adventures, onto the prizes. In keeping with the winter theme, I’m giving away a copy of my shifter story, Reindeer Games: Cupid, which is actually set at this time of year. So there’s cold and ice… but no spanking! Damn, I really need to write a winter spanking story, don’t I? 😉 *adds to list*

The next day, Cassius was still berating himself. After making the decision to ask Carina out, things had gone spectacularly wrong. The kettle had barely boiled when she’d shouted to him. He’d gone back into the living room to find her pulling her socks and boots back on. It seemed she’d made her phone call and discovered that one of her colleagues was in the area, and was going to swing by and pick her up right away. In an extra blow of bad luck—in Cassius’ opinion—the colleague also had a trainee with him, so they’d be picking Carina’s van up at the same time, which meant she had no reason to come back.

Ever since he’d closed the door behind them—having signed for Simon’s parcel—he’d been in a spectacularly bad mood. What made it worse was the fact he had nobody to blame but himself. If he’d just asked her out when he’d first thought about it, then things would have been fine, if she’d said yes, of course. If she’d said no, he’d probably still have been in a bad mood, but at least he’d have known either way. Now he was in the unpleasant situation of having found someone he liked—and it had been a long time since that had happened—and having no way to contact them to ask them out and find out if the feeling was mutual.

He was emptying the dishwasher—and slamming the drawers and cupboard doors much harder than necessary—when a knock came at the door. Sighing, he headed towards the front door, ready to give the door-to-door salesman a piece of his mind before pointing at the sign on the lamppost across the street which declared that he lived in a “No Cold Calling Area.” He wasn’t usually the argumentative or confrontational type, but he relished the opportunity to take his mood out on someone.

Flinging the door open, Cassius froze in his ready-to-rant pose.

Carina stood in front of him, smiling shyly and brandishing a jar of Cadbury’s instant hot chocolate and a bag of mini marshmallows.

“Still up for that hot chocolate?” she said, looking hopeful.

Cassius’ awful mood dissipated as if it had never been there. He sent up a silent prayer of thanks to any deity that might be listening, then stood back and gestured Carina inside.

She removed her shoes and outerwear in the hallway, then moved into the living room at Cassius’ invitation and sat down. Cassius remained standing.

“So,” he said, realising that in his surprise, he hadn’t actually spoken to her yet, “what brings you here? And how’s the ankle?”

“Much better, thank you. I took your advice and rested up yesterday. I woke up this morning fully intending to call in sick if I was still in pain, but I’m absolutely fine. And to answer your other question, I’m here to say thank you. Things went so fast yesterday that I didn’t get chance to thank you properly, or to have a hot chocolate with you. So I’m here to do both, if that’s okay with you. I’m not keeping you from anything, am I?” She looked around, as if looking for evidence of what he’d been doing before she knocked on the door.

I just wanted to stop by and wish you all a Merry Christmas. This week is going to be pretty hectic getting everything up to date before the holiday hits – the joy of being self-employed! And then there’s the fact I’ve got a new book coming out on Wednesday, so I’ll be busy promoting that baby. 🙂

So, before things do get too hectic, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and here’s a present for you:

My paranormal erotic romance tale, Succubus Comes Home, is now free. Well, it’s free wherever I’m allowed to put it free. So basically you can grab it from All Romance eBooks, Smashwords and iBooks for free, and hopefully the other retailers will soon follow suit. It’s already at the lowest price Amazon will allow me to select – but you never know, they may drop it when they see everywhere else has it as a freebie.

So head on over and grab your free download. I’ll be leaving it as a permanent free read, though, so if you’re not getting an eReader until Christmas, you don’t need to panic. It’ll still be available afterwards.

Happy Reading!

BlisseKiss Kissmas

It’s time for a very special Sunday Snog! This is the BlisseKiss Kissmas event – woohoo! It’s all about that simple yet unique act of touching lips and sharing souls.

CupidSo, without further ado, here’s my snog. It’s from my Christmas book, Reindeer Games: Cupid. It’s actually set in early January, but there’s definitely a holiday vibe about it!

Turning to face her, he felt simultaneous lurches in his chest and groin. She really was the most beautiful creature he’d ever seen. In all his long years, he didn’t think he’d felt quite this strongly about someone — and, if he was honest with himself, it scared him. Particularly since he knew it was going to kill him—not literally, of course—when they broke up.

“What’s the matter?” she asked.

Cassius shook his head, as though to rid himself of his maudlin thoughts. “Nothing,” he replied, stepping towards her, “I was just thinking about how beautiful you are.”

She lowered her eyes demurely, and a wash of colour crept across her cheeks. It was totally adorable, and Cassius’ rapidly swelling cock leapt in response. She seemed to get a grip on herself, and looked back up at him. “Thank you. You’re pretty damn gorgeous yourself. Now kiss me.”

“It would be my pleasure.” He leaned down to do just that, but then stopped. “Oh, hang on one moment.”

A little crease appeared between her eyebrows as he backed off. Then he walked over to his bedside table, removed his glasses and put them down. “Okay, I’m all yours.”

“Well, thank fuck for that! Come here.” She shuffled back on the bed until she was leaning against the pillows, and patted the space next to her.

Cassius didn’t hesitate. He noticed she’d already taken off her shoes, and he quickly pulled his off before joining her on the mattress and moving instantly into her open arms. Their lips met, and once more Cassius was astounded by the strength of feeling he had for this woman. It was as though she’d cast some kind of spell on him, almost like the mating bond that some of his kind experienced. But he’d never expected to feel that—his reindeer colleagues were all spoken for, and he’d never been attracted to any of the girls, anyway. He’d resigned himself to the fact that any attachments he had would be of the human, not supernatural, variety.

As his tongue slipped sensuously against Carina’s, and their hands wandered across each other’s bodies, he came to the conclusion that was just fine. If this was human love, then he was more than happy with it. Carina was perfect — and for the time being, at least, she was his.

My Sexy Saturday #11 – #MySexySaturday

My Sexy Saturday

Welcome back to My Sexy Saturday. This is where writers post either 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs from their published work or work in progress, sticking to the week’s theme. This week’s theme is that sexy character. So I’ve selected a snippet from Reindeer Games: Cupid, where there are sparks flying between Cassius and Carina.

He gave her a mock glare, and had to restrain a smile as her eyes widened. He’d obviously convinced her he really was annoyed. Pausing for a beat, he grinned at her. “I’m only teasing you. You’re in luck. It is Cadbury’s. My favourite.”

Carina beamed back. “Seriously? Mine too!” She looked down, then up at him through her lashes. “I don’t suppose you have marshmallows, too?”

Cassius laughed. “Sure. And while I’m in the kitchen, I’ll see if I can rustle up Brad Pitt to deliver it to you, shall I?”

“No, it’s okay,” Carina said, giggling. “Brad Pitt does nothing for me. You’re more than adequate, Cassius.”

He thought he saw her blush as she spoke, and wondered if she was attracted to him. He certainly hoped so. He hadn’t thought of her in that way when he’d first seen her—he was too focussed on getting her inside and making sure she was all right. But now, as she sat barefoot on his sofa — making demands about hot chocolate and marshmallows — he came to the conclusion that she was damn cute, and he’d like to get to know her better. Providing she was single, of course.

“Flatterer,” he said before he could stop himself, “don’t let your boyfriend catch you saying things like that. You’ll get me into trouble.”

This time there was no mistaking the blush. She gave him a wry grin. “There’s no one to get you into trouble with, I’m afraid. I asked Santa to leave a hot, nice guy under my tree this year, but he didn’t come through for me.”

Blood and Lust from Taryn Rose

Blood and LustI am so proud to present BLOOD AND LUST, my very first novella and second published work (the first, being L WORLD). Plunging into paranormal fantasy was a real treat after my foray into the lives of characters living in a contemporary and realistic world. I am a huge fan of True Blood and Anne Rice novels, and always viewed vampires as a kind of tortured superhero. My vampire heroine, Skarlet, is somewhat of a cross between Xena: Warrior Princess and True Blood’s Bill Compton (before he turned evil). What’s funny, is I recently met a charming aspiring Broadway star with some nice credits to her name. She, like my other heroine and Skarlet’s love interest, Emma, lives with a talented gay male couple in Greenwich Village. After hanging out with her, I thought, hmm, a theatrical, optimistic and open-minded girl would make a nice counterpart to Skarlet’s brooding, principled and introverted vampiress. And soon Emma was born. Though she is delicate physically, Emma is strong-minded, able to brave a brush with the supernatural, perhaps even ready to find love in the strangest of places. I have learned that, in a sense, realism becomes even more important in paranormal romance in that emotions and the connection between the heroines (or hero/heroine) are drawn from out-of-the-ordinary circumstances and perhaps even more powerful. The author must make those circumstances arise organically out of the underlying world she has created, but the connection and chemistry between the two characters must work on an intensely realistic level.

Blurb:

The eyes of a rising Broadway starlet are opened to a world she never knew existed, and a passion she never knew burned inside her…

After an opening night party, Emma Jones naively accepts a ride home from her lecherous producer and finds herself in a desperate struggle. But when a beautiful, mysterious stranger rescues her, Emma realizes that the real danger may have just begun.
Her savior, Skarlet, is an agent of the Vampire Commission, a secret organization with an intense interest in Emma – – or more specifically, her blood. Skarlet’s mission is clear: deliver Emma into the clutches of the Commission. But as they near their destination, Skarlet cannot deny the intense attraction she feels toward her breath-taking captive. Emma is drawn to her magnetic heroine as well and a fateful decision sets the two on a path of extreme danger and forbidden love. As the Commission closes in, a startling discovery raises the stakes and both women must choose – – between all they’ve ever known and a passion they’ve never known before.

Excerpt:

“Goodbye, Emma.” Skarlet turned abruptly to leave, her long leather coat spiraling around with her.

“Wait.”

She stopped.

“Look, I…I know we ‘never met before’, but I’m glad we did.” Emma’s eyes fluttered, as she struggled to find the right way to end the evening. Skarlet clasped her hand, and Emma stared into her intense eyes. She felt herself melting inside.

“So am I,” Skarlet uttered. “So glad.”

Emma took a breath, collecting herself. “I want you to come to my show. Tomorrow night at eight at the Evermore Theater. I’ll leave a ticket for you at the box office.”

Skarlet lifted Emma’s hand and kissed it, sending a tingle down Emma’s spine, and she felt an intimacy with this woman. The dark heroine who changed her life forever. Skarlet cupped her palms against Emma’s lower back suddenly, pulling her in, and Emma gasped at her sudden proximity to the woman’s lips. She held her gaze and froze as Skarlet brought her lips down to meet hers, kissing her. Gently at first, pressing her much larger breasts against her own. After a night of terror, Emma finally felt free, a feeling that magnified the waves of sexual energy that were surging through her body. She opened her mouth to catch a breath and sucked in the woman’s supple, assured lips, wanting nothing but to devour them. Her legs spread apart instinctually, a result of an aching that needed to be sated. And Emma recognized an urge she never felt before: To make love to a woman. An unbearable urge to be taken by Skarlet the vampiress in all her ferocity.
