I’m Running My Writing Therapy Workshop at Himley Hall & Park on 13th September

HH LTL Generic

Hi everyone,

I’m absolutely thrilled to announce a new partnership!

I’m running two of my Lightening the Load Writing Therapy workshops at the fabulous Beauty, Fashion & Wellbeing Fair at Himley Hall & Park (nr. Dudley, England) on Sunday 13th September. Sessions available are 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Here’s more about my workshop:

Lighten your mental load by offloading your worries onto paper (or screen), then taking control of what happens next.

Life’s not easy—we all know that. But for every minor irritation that’s easy to shrug off, there’s another thing that hits hard. Weighs you down. Gives you sleepless nights. Or maybe it’s something that happened to you in the past, or is in your future. Either way, this workshop uses writing as a form of therapy to help you confront those things, examine them in a different way, then take control of what happens next, providing you with a mental release. Empowering you. Lightening your load.

During this workshop, attendees will come together in a safe, private space and be guided through a creative writing process which will help them process and start to deal with things that have been weighing them down, allowing them to move forward—mentally lighter.

Please bring a notepad and pen (maybe more than one, just in case it stops working or runs out!), or a laptop/tablet (fully charged – there’s no guarantee of access to a power socket) with you to this workshop—whatever you prefer to write on/with. A bottle of water and some tissues are also a good idea—you’re going to examine something upsetting or painful to you in this workshop, and we don’t know how you’re going to react to that in the moment.

Attendees will be asked if they wish to read out what they’ve written, but this is STRICTLY voluntary. The workshop is a safe space, and everyone will be reminded that they shouldn’t share anything they’ve heard outside the venue, nor provide opinions on others’ personal situations, or give unsolicited advice.

PLEASE NOTE: Lucy is not a qualified mental health or counselling professional, so can’t help you should you unlock something you’re worried about dealing with, but local relevant resources will be made available to you at the workshop.

*Please arrive in plenty of time to get checked in and comfortable as the workshops will start promptly.

About Lucy:

Lucy is an author with over twenty years’ experience in writing for publication, and has been teaching and running workshops since 2012. She has taught/lectured at various conferences, including the Romantic Novelists’ Association and Swanwick Writers’ Summer School, as well as online and in bookshops. She has a particular interest in and passion for mental and physical health. This workshop came about when Lucy realised how much her own writing helped her when it came to dealing with and releasing her own personal grief and worries, and how writing could be harnessed to help other people do the same.

Hi lovelies,

I’m thrilled to announce the release of this amazing charity anthology – out today! It has a mental health and domestic abuse theme, and my story is called Beautifying Bowton, which takes on the topics of stress, anxiety and grief.

Grab your copy today and show your support for two amazing charities: https://books2read.com/beautifulminds

Blurb:

When your head is your worst enemy, nothing seems to help – or does it?

What happens when what was believed to be love turns out to be the thing that hurts you the most?

Sometimes a loving touch, endless support, and the sweetest kiss can ease mental anguish and physical pains.

In these stories, the characters find solace in the most unexpected of places. No matter if their beautiful minds are their biggest foe, or the hand that’s meant to cherish them harms them instead.

** All money raised from sales will be donated equally to Yellow Door and Young Minds.**

Including stories from 9 amazing authors: T S Arthur, M B Feeney, B A Childs, Lucy Felthouse, Skye Turner, C H Thomas, Rosie East, J A Melville and Clare Bentley.
