Seduced by the Daredevil by Jorja Lovett

Thanks for hosting me today, and sharing in the new release madness! Seduced by the Daredevil is available now and is a bit of a departure from my usual style. It started life as a medical romance, but there are definitely moments of rom com in there, as you can see from the excerpt…

Seduced by the DaredevilBlurb

Sparks fly when ‘Miss Stuffy Knickers’ Andrea Bolan meets her match in daredevil Matt King. There’s nothing quite like a passionate kiss to motivate a girl to jump off a building in the name of charity. With her inhibitions left far behind she begins to see the benefits of no-strings fun and sets her sights on her sexy abseiling instructor, but things don’t go exactly to plan.

Adrenaline junkie Matt fights his demons by living his life on the edge and an uptight dietitian definitely isn’t his usual type. But, when they’re thrown together at work there’s no denying the chemistry. Lust is easy for him to deal with, but he doesn’t do commitment.

A sizzling affair catches them both by surprise but if they’re not careful their pasts might just cost them any chance of future happiness.

Excerpt

Matt was eternally grateful he had bought the apartment close by, overlooking the River Lagan. He had enough trouble keeping his hands off Andrea for the duration of the five-minute journey. Small talk with a driver in no obvious hurry was the last thing he wanted, with seduction on his mind. He held it together until they pulled up outside the apartment block.

“Cheers, mate.” He threw a few notes through the window and pulled a giggling Andrea from the passenger seat.

Lust fuelled their journey and they half-ran to the entrance of the exclusive new complex. The few steps leading to his front door were taken in such a frenzied rush to reach their destination that Andrea stumbled on those impossibly high heels.

“Are you okay?” On autopilot, he knelt down to her crumpled position on the step and carefully removed her shoe to check for any swelling.

“I’m fine.” She giggled again and held up the broken heel of her shoe.

“Thank goodness that’s the only casualty,” he said, and swept her, and the broken stiletto, up into his arms to carry her the rest of the way. With one hand fiddling with the lock and the other cradling Andrea close to him, who said men couldn’t multitask?

Once inside, he set her back onto her feet and closed the door shut with the force of his body pinning hers against it. He wanted her naked, and that damn sweater which had teased him all day needed to go. Andrea didn’t resist when he lifted it to reveal the bounty beneath, but tugged at his T-shirt in response until pressing his naked skin to hers became as necessary as breathing. He impatiently hiked her top higher to strip her completely of it.

“Hold on a sec.” Andrea’s muffled voice came from the tangle of blue wool wedged around her head. He yanked until her head popped free, leaving that once-silky hair a veritable bird’s nest.

“That’s better,” she said. “Now you.”

He broke contact to get rid of the barrier, and those few seconds let him drink in the sight of her. In a white bra and jeans, hair mussed, and lips swollen from his tending, she was a far cry from the priss-miss he’d first encountered.

Man, what a turn-on.

The rapid rise and fall of her chest mesmerized him, but restrictive cotton denied him the full effect of her voluptuous cleavage. Eager to free her from all conservative binds, his fingers sought to unhook the fastening of her bra. A well-rehearsed tug and flick failed to open the catch, and he distracted her with a passionate kiss while he worked on it. First with one hand, then with two, he pushed and pulled to no avail.

Finally, he had to admit defeat. “I can’t get this bloody thing open, Andie.”

Resisting the urge to rip it off, Matt waited while she reached to undo it herself. She whipped her underwear off to release her pert breasts into view, and slung it in his direction. The bra catapulted directly into his face, the tail end popping him in the eye. Instinctively he clutched his eye and stifled a verbal wince.

“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” Through a watery haze, he saw her hand fly to her mouth in horror.

“Don’t worry, Andie. It’s not your fault.” He tried to blink back the watery sting to ease her guilt, but full apology mode had already kicked in.

“That was a stupid thing to do. I don’t know what I was thinking.”

His one good eye saw her bend to retrieve the makeshift weapon. She stood up and accidentally head-butted him between the legs, his groin suffering the next hit. His tongue nearly didn’t make it either, he bit it so hard to stop from crying out. The crippling agony doubled him in two and he fought to breathe through it. When, oh when, had his tried and tested methods of seduction turned into a comedy of errors?

“Why don’t we take this somewhere safer? Like the bedroom?” he asked in shallow bursts amid ragged breaths.

Andrea placed a self-conscious arm across her chest and limped to his bedroom, one foot shoeless and the other wobbling on a stiletto. He followed when the ache down below receded enough to allow movement.

Wicked Flower by Carlene Love Flores

Wicked FlowerHi everyone! Thanks for opening up your cyber doors to the Sin Pointe tour bus, Lucy! I hope you and your friends all had a nice hot summer, romantically speaking that is. Mine ended on a steamy note with the release of Book 5 in my Sin Pointe series, Wicked Flower. This is Stefan Calderon’s story. He’s the bass playing lead singer of Sin Pointe and he was a very patient man who waited all this time for me to work up the nerve to write his story down. It wasn’t always easy to type the words coming out of his delectably naughty mouth, but I did it and looking back now, his moments are some of my favorites of the series. While we’re out and about, visiting in the cyber world with all you lovelies, I thought it would be fun to share a few faves. So thank you so much for having us and here is the first time Stefan showed us his soft, protective side. This one pops up back in the very first Sin Pointe novel, Sidewalk Flower. The heroine of that story, Trista—also the Sin Pointe personal assistant—wants nothing more than to have a quiet flight to the next tour gig and forget about the man breaking her heart. Stefan, of course, has a better plan for the heartbreaker…

“When do we land?” Stefan nudged her from across the aisle way. He was stretched out across two white leather seats. “Trista? You’re ignoring me. You know how I get when I’m ignored.” He pulled at one of her straggler curls.

“Ouch, Stefan. I’m not in the mood.” She looked at the time on her cell phone, glad to have some other reason to stare at it. “Seven hours, thirty minutes.”

Stefan pierced her with his dark brown eyes. “Trista, it’s gonna be a long six months, it’s all I’m sayin’. You want me to kick his ass for you?” He grinned and his eyes returned to their warm shade of chocolate.

Even though she loved him and he knew it, she ignored him coldly. Successfully. Stefan shrugged it off and closed his eyes to get some sleep but not before he leaned all the way across the aisle and plunked a kiss on her forehead.

And here is the Wicked Flower blurb:

epeditorsesal1s~Editor’s Pick

Sin Pointe front man Stefan Calderon is playing a very dangerous game and his mom’s live-in caretaker, Dani Foster, just landed right smack in the middle of it.

Practically strangers when Stefan rolls into his small hometown looking to patch things up with Mom, his and Dani’s worlds collide with a hot and intense hook up. He knows right away this woman will make the perfect partner for his two weeks in town. But when she realizes whose son he is, and what he’s there to do, sexy times come to an abrupt halt.

That is until they come up with a solution. Rules. Every game needs them. The question isn’t if they’ll break them, but when and how hard.

It’s a wickedly delicious game, one neither of them intends to lose.

Thanks again for letting me share with you today. If you’d like to spend more time with Stefan in his own book, you can find Wicked Flower at these lovely places:

Changing Characters… Or Not by Raven McAllan

Nina's DomIt’s funny how my characters tell me very firmly who they are, what they are and insist I write just that. No trying to change them. It just won’t work.

By trial and error, I’ve now accepted that.

Nina and Dominic were no exception. In fact I wondered at times if they would ever get together, they were so blooming stubborn.

However they had fun trying to show each other whom they were and want they wanted.

I just wrote what they told me to—as you do.

This is the result.

Blurb:

Nina Mack is no sub. So why then do all her senses scream at her to submit to the enigmatic Dominic Christopher?

When the two meet at her friend’s hen party at Dommissimma, sparks fly. Their attraction is immediate and explosive, but how can Nina ever allow herself to enter into a relationship with a Dom?

Dominic has lost interest in BDSM since the death of his wife, so the insistent tug of awareness toward the volatile and decidedly bratty Nina is a welcome surprise.

With his inner Dom firmly awakened can he convince Nina to give their relationship a try?

Time will tell if these two can find their own Dom/sub relationship and reclaim happiness.

A wee tease for you…

Nic held out his hand for the keys, and after a brief startled glance, Nina passed them to him. He locked the door and handed them back. She tucked them inside her handbag.

“Why did you do that?” Nina asked once she was inside the car with him. “Lock my door? I’ve been doing it for years.”

“Good.” Nic checked the flow of traffic and overtook a bus. “And when we’re together I’ll do it for you.”

“But why?” Nina asked again. “Why not just let me lock up?”

There’s that word again.

“I swear the first word you ever spoke was why,” Nic said as he turned the car into the street where Dommissimma was situated. “And I bet it will be your last. I agree that to question things you don’t understand is a good thing, but by heck, Nina, you’d even question why I asked for dark chocolate not milk.”

“No, I wouldn’t then,” she said in a triumphant tone. “Because dark chocolate helps to control the sub drop a sub might get after a scene. Or a Dom for that matter.” She didn’t add so there, but Nic could hear it inferred in her voice.

“Good. I’ve found one action you won’t question. I wonder if there’s any more?” He stopped the car in the half empty car park and switched of the engine. “Not too busy, but it looks like there’ll be enough going on so you’ll be able to gauge your reactions. Let me come ‘round and help you out. And before you say anything, that, plus locking your door are just some of those common courtesies we spoke of over the phone. To me I don’t do it as a Dom, I do it as a man.”

“I might question it, the chocolate. I’d wonder who it was for.” Nina said as they approached the nondescript door to Dommissimma. “Seeing as we’re not scening.”

“Not at the moment.” Nic agreed with her. “But who knows when we might need it.” He looked at her pale face. “Are you sure you’re okay with this? I don’t want you passing out or anything.” Her pallor worried him. He hoped she wasn’t anemic.

“What?” She sounded surprised. “I’m fine, why?”?”You’re as white as a sheet.”?”I usually am,” Nina said. “But in this case I think it’s hunger, worry I might let you down rather than natural Celtic pale skin, and oh sh—oot, I recognize that car.” Nina waved toward a dark saloon in the corner of the car park. “Beware of nosy Doms. That’s Edan’s, and if he’s here it’s a shoe in Athol will be as well.”

“Why are you hungry?” Nic honed in on her first reason.

“Running late, apprehension, forgot to buy bread, take your pick. And now a crowing Athol.”

Nic grinned and kissed her nose. She wrinkled it. “That tickles.”

“It’ll be directed at me as well as you, anima mia. I’ve only been around when needed these last few years. And there’s no need to be apprehensive. We’re not scening, and you said nothing frightened you, just that it wasn’t your thing, so why worry?”

“I didn’t say it was logical,” Nina said. “I can’t explain it, there’s no logical explanation, in fact no explanation at all. It makes no sense, but it’s how I feel.” She bit her lip and gave a deprecating smile. “Stupid or what?”

Nic tugged her to one side of the door. “Not stupid. But I’m going to do my damnedest to change how you feel. Nina, love, nothing you can say or do will let me down.” Unless it’s let’s get out of here, or I don’t want to see you again, Nic. “Remember you can safe word me over anything. And a nip just here,” he put her thumb and forefinger on the back of his hand, “will alert me if something is bothering you and we need to move away and talk. Yes?”

“Yes.”?”Then are you ready?”?Nina blinked and squared her shoulders. “Yes, Sir, I’m ready.”

He could see her mindset changing as she spoke.?”Then let’s go in.”

Hair july 14Raven Bio…

Well what can I say?

I’m growing old disgracefully and loving it.

Dh and I live on the edge of a Scottish forest, and rattle around in a house much too big for us.

Our kids have grown up and flown the nest, but roll back up when they want to take a deep breath and smell the daisies so to speak.

I write in my study, which overlooks the garden and the lane. I’m often seen procrastinating, by checking out the wild life, looking—only looking—at the ironing basket and assuring tourists that indeed, I’m not the bed and breakfast. That would mean cooking fried eggs without breaking the yolks, and disturbing the dust bunnies as they procreate under the beds. Not to be thought of.

Being able to do what I love, and knowing people get pleasure from my writing is fantastic. Long may it last.

The Beast of Birch Hill by Naomi Clark

The Beast of Birch HillBlurb:

Wildlife photographer and cryptozoology blogger Emma Jordan came to Birch Hill expecting to find another urban legend. The rumours of a big cat stalking the woods around this quiet town surely had to be just that – rumours. But when the evidence starts to pile up that Birch Hill really does have a killer cat on the loose, Emma finds herself caught in a confusing game of cat and mouse. And her blossoming relationship with Abi Blakely might just be pushing her further into danger.

Excerpt:

A couple of hours later, showered, changed, and feeling human again, Emma headed back to Abigail’s Bakes. She told herself she was just looking to grab a quick lunch and sit somewhere pleasant while she updated her blog. Privately she had to admit it would be nice to just look at Abi while she worked.

The place was much busier than it had been that morning; it was full of kids and families jostling for table space. Abi and a younger girl worked the counter with cheer and ease, and cafe was filled with chatter and laughter. Emma joined the queue, trying to catch Abi’s eye. When Abi saw her, she waved and favored Emma with that infectious smile.

“How was your hike? Did you catch the Beast yet?” she asked Emma as she served her.

“Not yet. Maybe later.” Emma picked out a bacon and cheese strudel and a spiced apple muffin. “Do you have wifi in here? I need to get online.”

Abi passed her a slip of paper with a password on it along with her food. “Help yourself. Catch you later.”

Emma smiled, hoping the words weren’t just a mere formality. She found a table tucked away in the corner and flipped open her netbook. Her main source of income was her photography, supplying stock images for websites and brochures, entering as many competitions as she could, and doing the occasional teaching course if she wasn’t traveling. It was steady money, and a hefty inheritance from a grandparent she’d never met allowed her to live in comfort and indulge her other passion – the alien big cat stories. Her blog, After Dark All Cats Are Leopards, was one of the better-regarded in both the cryptid and sceptic communities and she had a steady following. When she’d announced last week that she was heading for Birch Hill, her views had skyrocketed, and even though she didn’t have much news to add yet, it was probably a good idea to update now.

She plugged her digital camera into the netbook and uploaded the photos she’d taken, eating as she worked. The strudel and the muffin were both perfectly delicious, and she allowed herself a brief fantasy of kidnapping Abi and making her bake for her full-time.

She didn’t notice Abi had joined her until the other woman pushed a cup of coffee to her. “Looks like thirsty work,” Abi remarked.

Emma jumped, then grinned. “Bloggers are powered entirely by caffeine. Thanks.”

“So I looked you up after you left,” Abi said. “Why big cats?” She leaned her elbows on the table and rested her head in her hands. Her dark curls framed her face perfectly, her expression attentive and interested. Emma squirmed a little under her keen gaze.

“When I was a kid I wanted to find Bigfoot,” Emma confessed. “My dad used to take me out hiking in the Rocky Mountains and tell me stories about Bigfoot and skinwalkers, all kinds of stuff. I just loved it. Then I grew up and decided there wasn’t much chance of Bigfoot really being out there. But big cats? Definitely.”

“You’re so sure? Even though nobody’s found a breeding population of wild tigers anywhere?” Abi asked with a grin.

“America’s a big country. There’s plenty of space for wide-roaming animals to hide. And big cats are generally elusive in their natural territories anyway. Yeah, I’m sure. People brought lions and tigers over here with circuses in the nineteenth century and there are thousands of people keeping them illegally today. There are orphanages for abandoned exotic animals up and down the country. It’s not completely ridiculous that some escape or are released into the wild. And cats are so adaptable. Even if we’re not talking big breeding populations, I think it’s more likely that there are non-native big cats out there than not.”

“You love this stuff, don’t you?” Abi said, looking thoughtful.

Emma flushed. “Was I rambling?”

“No, it’s interesting! I wish I could come out big cat hunting with you, but Jed probably wouldn’t let me.” She stuck her tongue out as if she’d eaten something distasteful.

“Well, he’s not coming either,” Emma said. “I take it he’s more than just prickly with you?”

Abi shuffled Emma’s empty plates around, looking embarrassed. “Oh, we just…clash. He’s pretty conservative and I’m not. He thinks I lower the tone of the neighborhood.”

“Not a fan of baked goods?” Emma joked.

“Baked goods or lesbians,” Abi said with a shrug.

Emma’s heart gave a little twist, but she kept her tone calm and amused as she replied. “Oh dear. I’d better not answer any personal questions he asks me then.”

Abi gave her a thoughtful look again that turned into a shy smile. “So what are you doing for the rest of the day? I’m off this afternoon.”

“I’m going back into the woods this evening but I’m free til then. Maybe…” Emma searched for something that didn’t sound too forward but still made it plain she liked Abi. “Maybe we could hang out?” Ugh. Lame.

Abi didn’t seem to notice. She flashed a dazzling smile. “How about a guided tour of Birch Hill? There’s not much to see, but with the right company it has a certain charm.”

“It’s a date.”

Abi stood, grabbing Emma’s plates. “Give me an hour and we’re on.”

Emma watched her sashay away with a flutter of excitement. If the Beast of Birch Hill didn’t show up, Abi might prove just as exciting.

About the Author:

Naomi likes writing, perfume, fancy tea, and unfathomable monsters from the dark spaces between the stars, not necessarily in that order. She has been writing stories ever since she learned how to write, but is still trying to master the art of biography writing. When she’s not dealing with werewolves, demons, or sea monsters, she’s hanging out with her cat and probably watching a documentary about Bigfoot. If the cat isn’t available, she’s with her fiancé watching cookery shows and silently plotting her next book.

It’s My Birthday! – News and Celebrations

Hi everyone,

Since it’s my birthday (hip hip hooray!), I thought it would be a good excuse to swing by and give you some updates. There have been so many that I haven’t been able to squeeze them in amongst all my awesome guest bloggers and other posts – I like to only post one thing a day on here, if possible. Social media, of course, is fair game. As you probably already know, I waffle on rather a lot over there 😉

Firstly, today is the release of the WTRAFSOG box set number four, of which I’m excited to be a part. It’s a bundle of previously-released stories, including mine, Weekend at Wilderhope Manor. There’s a Facebook party taking place all day, and it’d be fantastic if you could swing by and say hello. It’s here.

Next up… just in case you missed it amongst all the insanity, these new books hit the shelves:

Smut by the Sea Volume 3 – co-edited by myself and Victoria Blisse, and containing my story, Hermit.

The Big Book of Submission – contains my story, Without Question.

Can’t Get Enough – contains my story, When He Gets Home.

Summer Loving – this one deserves a special mention. Not because the others are rubbish or anything, far from it, (trust me, click the links, check out the pages and read the reviews!) but because every single sale of this book is going to help Sommer Marsden and her family. Her husband, “the man” as he is affectionately known, has pancreatic cancer, and as such the family’s finances have been drastically reduced – as if the situation wasn’t stressful enough. So a bunch of fantastic writers have donated stories, with Alison Tyler compiling and editing them, and Selena Kitt’s eXcessica publishing them. And every penny goes to help Sommer and her family. That’s why I love the erotica and erotic romance community so much. Well, one of the many reasons, anyway! So please, if you can only buy one book, make it this one. My story is called Heat Upon Heat.

Also, the popular Alpha’s Claim: Manlove Edition anthology from Evernight Publishing is now available in paperback format. Links here.

As if all that wasn’t exciting enough… I have two upcoming releases which I’d like to share (well, I have more than two, but these are the ones I can dish the dirt on!).

In just FOUR DAYS (told you I was excited) my second novel, Pack of Lies, will be released. It’s a paranormal erotic romance with both M/F and M/M pairings. I absolutely adored writing this book and hope that my readers enjoy it. There will be more information on Wednesday, of course,  but for now, here’s the blurb (and don’t you just love that cover?!):

Werewolf brothers Matthew and Isaac have lived in the peaceful village of Eyam all their lives. The villagers know what happens every full moon, and are happy to keep their secret. But their privacy comes at a cost—neither brother has taken a lover in almost four hundred years.

Then at the full moon, a sheep is slaughtered on Eyam Moor, by what could only be an animal. A large, vicious animal. Even the brothers’ staunchest supporters begin to have their doubts. Meanwhile Isaac is smitten by a handsome newcomer to the village, while a vivacious visitor is happy to offer Matthew her all.

As they indulge their lust, they must clear their names and convince their neighbours that they aren’t also letting their baser instincts out to play.

Inside Scoop: This book contains sizzling scenes of both M/M and M/F sex.

I’d love it if you could add it to your Goodreads shelves here.

And last but certainly not least, here’s some information on another bundle I’m taking part in. Unconditional Surrender is a M/M military erotic romance collection containing sixteen brand new novellas, including mine, Desert Heat, which is about a British Army soldier and his Afghani interpreter. Yum 😀 It’s due onto digital shelves in October. Here’s the blurb:

Strong. Sexy. Sizzling.

There’s nothing like a man in uniform, and sixteen of today’s hottest gay romance authors are celebrating military heroes and the men brave enough to love them.

These brand-new novellas feature all branches of the service and offer something for every reader. Almost 300,000 never before published words!

Contains stories from Cat Grant, Cassandra Carr, Annabeth Albert, Brien Michaels, L.A. Witt, E.M. Lynley, Lia Davis, Sasha Devlin, Sam Schooler, Lucy Felthouse, Rhi Etzweiler, Kerry Adrienne, Amelia Gormley, Keira Andrews, VJ Summers and Brit Blaise.

Add it to your Goodreads shelves here.

Think that lot will keep you going for a while? Hope so – I’m off to collapse in a corner with a cold drink 😉

Happy Reading,

Lucy x

Cool, right? (: I’m currently at work on the next few stories in this series, but for now check out The Encounter available from Evernight Publishing.

Be Warned: m/m sex

Excerpt

Zen threw his arms around him in a tight hold and claimed his mouth with wild abandon. Seth’s head reeled. He couldn’t believe he and Zen were kissing. Granted, it wasn’t anything like the soft moments and slow love making he’d imagined over the years, but he’d take what he could get at the moment.

Zen moved his hands up and down Seth’s back. The heated touch under his jacket and over his shirt seared his skin in a delightful way. Zen’s lips pressed upon his almost too violently. He swept his tongue out, forcing Seth to open his mouth.

Seth adored the taste of him, salty and spicy, and his scent of leather and earth as well.

God, for so long he’d waited to have Zen in his arms, his body close. Zen’s lips trailed down his neck. Seth reached up and cupped the back of Zen’s head. Zen pulled at his shirt, tugging it from the confines of his pants without breaking the kiss. In the process of kissing him, somehow Zen was able to unbutton and unzip both their pants and free their cocks out of the openings.

Desire rushed through Seth, clawing at his insides. Zen clutched at him like a drowning man scrambling for purchase on any floating thing to save him from the watery depths. Hands traveled over his shoulders, up his shirt, feeling all the nuances of his chest and back down to his rock-hard cock. The man held their dicks against each other, and Seth sucked in a long stream of air. The feel of their two satiny lengths rubbing together was a heady sensation.

Zen turned their bodies and laid them down. He stretched over Seth. Seth loved feeling the weight and heat of Zen’s strong body atop his. Still, Zen continued to kiss him, and he continued to surrender to the demand of Zen’s mouth.
