Make a Wish by E.D. Parr

Erotic, romantic, a Christmas MM romance to make you tingle

It’s the day before Christmas Eve and gorgeous, happy, Nick Kringle is making deliveries on the main street of the city when a car breaks down at the intersection.

Amid the seasonal crowds and inclement weather, Dylan West gets out of his car and tries to push it to the side of the road.

Nick rushes to help him and comes face to face with the most delicious man he’s ever seen.

Dylan’s down on his luck, but Nick believes in magic.

Can wishes come true? You bet—especially if Nick Kringle has anything to do with it.

Who is Nick Kringle?

With a name like that you might think he’s the jolly old elf in red, but Nick is a gorgeous guy who just happens to have a touch of the supernatural about him. He drives a red SUV, he delivers goods, and sometimes they’re straight from somewhere special—a place of magic and kindness.

Nick is gorgeous, kind, generous, loving just the kind of man that down on his luck Dylan West needs to run into. Could it be fate that makes his car break down unexpectedly almost next to Nick on the busy main street full of hectic Christmas shoppers and travelers? Maybe…

Make a WishRead an excerpt:

The city street glistened with rivers of red, green, bright pink, and white light thrown there by the stores and cafés decked out for the holiday season. Rain fell in drifting sheets as a chill wind ravaged the shoppers rushing from one place to another, some laden with parcels, others hunched against the weather in their winter coats.

Nick parked his SUV in the first available space, opened the trunk with the interior lever, and leaped out. He didn’t feel the cold unless snow lay knee deep on the ground and even then, he enjoyed the beauty, and the way a new white fall would change the light, way too much to complain about the chill.

As he ran around to the back of his vehicle, the squeal of tires braking hard and the clamor of honking horns made him spin around. In the junction behind him, standing motionless, was a stalled car. Other drivers surged around the stationary vehicle, making everything worse by taking space in the oncoming lanes so that everyone crammed dangerously together.

The driver of the offending vehicle edged out of his open car door, narrowly missed by a small car that chanced overtaking just as the lights turned red.

Nick cast a keen gaze over the man, registering his muscled body beneath an inexpensive suit and his thick dark hair, pushed back from his forehead so that the front spiked up. Nick watched the man lean into the open driver’s side door and attempt to shove the heavy vehicle to the side of the road. The man’s pants stretched over his hard ass and a sigh of appreciation escaped Nick. With one hand on the wheel, and the other lodged in the gap between open door and car, the man clearly needed help. Nick clicked the trunk of his SUV closed and jogged over to help.

“Hi, I’ll lend a hand,” he called to the stranded driver. The man straightened to answer and Nick was face to face with one of the most gorgeous men he’d ever seen. Nick never hid his emotions. They shone from his ice-blue eyes and exuded from his well-toned body. He smiled at the man in a way he knew and didn’t care broadcast attraction, desire—pure sex.

Apparently unaffected by Nick’s charisma, the man gave a grateful nod. “Thanks.” He leaned into the task of pushing the car out of the way, as the traffic lined up behind him, and the sky opened with a fresh punishing downpour.

Excerpt:

Leanne swallowed a mouthful of water, then smiled at him. “Perhaps you’ll find Mrs. Right and live happily ever after. And get out of that bachelor studio apartment.” She grinned.

Jay’s gaze cut to her, staring her down. A jolt of excitement slithered along her spine. His eyes nearly black, a deep abyss stared at her. Her heart raced. He never gazed at her with such intensity.

“What makes you think I haven’t found her yet?” he questioned, his tone grave and almost harsh.

“Oh, well … uh, I’m sorry. I didn’t know you had. Why didn’t you bring her to the wedding? Does Beau know her?” Leanne didn’t know what was worse: the thought of him with a woman, or the power in his eyes as he stared at her. “I’m happy for you.” It was a little fib. She frowned, not sure she liked the thoughts running through her head. This was Jay, for heaven’s sake. Her attraction to him wasn’t smart, nor did she have any say in who he dated.

Suddenly, Jay latched onto the front lapels of her robe and dragged her across the mere space separating them. Shocked, her eyes widened even further when he hauled her in against his thigh, holding her tight against his chest with a strong hand at her back. “There’s only one woman for me,” he murmured, and lowered his head.

He wasn’t going to…

He did.

His mouth plundered hers, his tongue driving deep. He tasted like melted chocolate drizzled on top of chocolate ice cream. But there were hints of stale coffee and mint underlying the sweetness.

What was happening? What chaos had shifted her world on its axis? Was she really being devoured by Jay Savage, model and sex god? Could he be as savage as his last name?

He lifted his hand to her jaw, keeping her in place as he slid his lips along hers. Slow, easy, wet, and hungry. Nothing was ever this good.

The thudding in her chest almost hurt with its ferocity.

How would she survive if he ever stopped kissing her?

Jay groaned low as he tasted her. The sound vibrated in her own ears. Leanne drew in a deep breath as he skimmed his fingers along her chest to the top of her towel while holding the back of her head with his other hand.

Air barely moved through her lungs his hold on her was tight, pressing her snug against his side. She held fast to his left bicep, hoping he’d keep her from being spun away in the craziness of the moment.

Never in her wildest dreams did she think she’d be here, up against him like this, breathing him in and enjoying his mouth on hers. If someone had told her she’d be here today, her body aflame and being the feast at this man’s dinner, she would have called them bat-shit-crazy. But damn. Her body was on fire. Chemistry and vigor she hadn’t known in over a year— longer if she admitted to herself that things had been dead for years in the bedroom with her ex—had come to life. She wanted to pounce on the man beside her.

Jay lifted his head. His molten eyes stared down at her, wanting her. The need there called to her, surrounded her. Her pulse raced and her lungs burned from breathing so hard.

Her eyes widened. What the hell was she doing?

She was going to hell for sure. In a lip-lock with a guy twenty years younger than her! She ought to be ashamed.

Speak for yourself. I’m enjoying myself.

Leanne wanted to scream at her conscience. This was wrong. Super wrong. He was her son’s best friend.

She stood, her fists clutching her robe tight around her. “Um, I’m sorry, this should never have happened.” She stomped toward the door, wishing the universe would suck her up and keep her until sanity returned.

“Wait, Leanne.” Jay grabbed at her arm, but she yanked it away.

“No. I can’t talk.” She sounded like a frickin’ lunatic, but the air in the sauna was too stifling. She needed out. Now. “I have to go. I can’t be here.”

Leanne threw open the door and raced down the hall toward the change room. She pulled the key from her pocket, opened the locker, scooped up her belongings, and exited the room. She dashed into the back hallway toward the elevator on the north side.

Leaning her head back against the wall, tears filled her eyes and she let out a guttural moan.

A fool. That’s what she was. A damn fool. To be swept away by his kiss, knowing he’d done nothing but be kind and pitied her for being alone all weekend, and believing a young guy in his prime could want an old, washed-up divorcee like her.

Embarrassment and frustration filled her. Her luck with the opposite sex was nil and zilch. She was better off alone.

The elevator dinged, and Leanne exited and scurried to her room. She entered her room, threw her belongings on the bed, and sat on the end of it. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She didn’t know what would haunt her more: the shame of giving in and enjoying the moments while kissing Jay—

Or the gullibility to think he wanted her as much as she did him.

Christmas with his Best Friend by Doris O’Connor (@mamad8)

Thank you so much for having me on your blog today with my new release. Christmas with his Best Friend.

This was one of those stories that practically wrote itself, once I started writing. I love the friends to lovers trope, myself, and I knew I would have to expand on the flash I wrote on my blog. This one to be precise.

Just imagine walking in on your best friend pleasuring himself to a picture of you? What would you do?

Emma has a whole set of conflicting emotions to deal with when this happens to her. Not least because she has been secretively fantasising about her best friend too.

Dare they take that leap into the unknown?

You’ll have to read the book to find out.

*smiles*

*****

Christmas With His Best FriendThey’ve been friends for twenty years until … this Christmas.

How do you tell a sweet, naïve, and clearly vanilla girl that you like to tie women up and torture them for mutual enjoyment in your spare time? Josh Mackenzie has no idea, but when his best friend Emma walks in on him pleasuring himself, everything changes.

For Emma, coming face to face with her secret longings is mind-blowing. It’s one thing to fantasize about your best friend, but dare she take that leap into the unknown? Will it not ruin their friendship, and is—what would undoubtedly be awesome—sex worth risking that?

While Josh shares her fears, she is all he’s ever wanted in a woman, and he’s determined to show her that they can have it all. This woman is his to mark, cherish, and love forever, and he’ll prove it to her, one spank at a time.

Ready for a hawt excerpt?

Now that the moment was here Josh was lost for words. With his sweet little Em in his arms, her hazel eyes looking up him with so much trust … fuck it. What was he doing here? Instead of answering her, he pulled away, slid his hands in her hair and tucked at the pins holding it up. The dark blonde mass of silky curls fell in soft waves around her face, and he twirled one strand around his index finger.

“Josh? What are we doing here?” Her whispered question shot straight to his cock, and not trusting his voice to fucking work, he decided to show her instead. A soft gasp escaped her when he picked her up, set her on the kitchen counter, and pulling her legs apart stepped right between them. The action made her pencil skirt ride up, exposing the top of her stockings, and Josh groaned under his breath. He let his digits linger, half expecting her to slap them away, but when she opened her legs wider, he tore his gaze away from her pale flesh to check out her expression. Head down, she seemed mesmerized by the sight of his tanned hands against her skin, and the sweet scent of aroused woman filled his nostrils when he ran his hands slowly up her inner thighs. He could almost feel the heat of her cunt before her whisper stopped him.

“Josh?”

Leaving one of his hands where it was, he tipped her chin up with his index finger, satisfied beyond relief to see the same need he felt reflected back at him in her eyes. The hazel orbs had darkened to almost black, and when she licked her lips in a nervous gesture, his gaze followed the movements of her little pink tongue. Visions of her on her knees, with that sweet mouth wrapped around his dick, as he shot his jizz down her slender throat, made his cock jerk against the zipper of his jeans. He growled low in his throat at the thought of marking her thus, and her expressive eyes widened. Her breathing sped up even more, making her tits strain against the sensible blouse she wore for work. With the two top buttons undone, the third was threatening to give way under the rapid movement, giving him tantalizing glimpses of the soft swell of her breasts. Josh couldn’t help it. His self-control and good intentions went out of the window at her untutored responses to him, and he trailed his finger lower down the soft skin of her neck, over her collarbone and lower still, until he reached that tiny ivory button.

“I want you, little one.”

His voice dropped to the one he used in a scene without any conscious effort on his part, and when he flicked that button open, Emma’s sweet moan of surrender was music to his ears. Watching her closely for her reaction, he flicked the next button and so forth, until the sides of her blouse fell open, exposing her amazing rack. The lacy, mauve bra left little to the imagination. Josh continued his one fingered exploration, and they both groaned when he circled her nipples. Clearly visible through the lace, the little pink nubs hardened under his gentle ministrations, and Em’s breathing kicked up another notch.

“Please, I…”

Josh trailed his finger lower, over the soft swell of her abdomen, which caused her to suck in her belly, and he smiled at her action.

“Have I ever told you how much I love your curves, little one?”

Her surprised jerk and strangled half laugh told him he hadn’t, and Josh inwardly kicked himself.

“Since when? You have seen your girlfriends, right?”

There was a wealth of bitterness in those few words compounded by her hasty grab for her blouse. She pulled the ends closed and wrapped her arms around herself in a defensive move that tore at his heartstrings. The Dom in him wanted to order her to strip, to take her over his knee and paddle that luscious ass of hers for disrespecting her body shape like that, and making assumptions about him to boot, but he hadn’t earned that right yet.

So, instead of acting on that impulse, which pushed adrenaline through his veins, he did the next best thing. Stepped away, crossed his own arms over his chest and gave her his best don’t-talk-such-crap-subbie stare.

It didn’t take long before she caved in. Uncertainty crossed her features, followed by confusion, and when she dropped her gaze to his chest, he finally spoke.

“Let’s get one thing straight here, my sweet little Em, I do, indeed love your curves. In fact seeing you waltz out of here in those damn tight pencil skirts you wear for work has me so fucking hard I have to jerk off the minute you leave.”

Clearly startled by that revelation, Emma jerked her head up, opened her mouth to say something, but one look at his expression seemed to change her mind. The Dom in him almost roared when she dropped her gaze—to his chin this time—and kept it there. His girl was a natural, responding to him without even realizing what she was doing, and wasn’t that the biggest turn-on yet.

“Next, I don’t do girlfriends.” That brought her head up again, albeit briefly, and he smiled at her sharp intake of breath, and the confusion written all over her face. “I haven’t done for a long time, ever since I realized I was in love with my best friend.”

My Sexy Saturday #139 – She could be a thief. #MySexySaturday

My Sexy Saturday

Welcome back to My Sexy Saturday! This is where writers post either 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs from their published work or work in progress. I’m sharing another snippet from my co-authored novel, The Billionaire and the Wild Man. I hope you enjoy it!

The Billionaire and the Wild ManI look around, half-expecting to see an angry husband chasing after her, or maybe even a shopkeeper. She could be a thief. Glancing at her again, I realize that can’t possibly be the case, unless she’s stolen something invisible. All she has are the clothes on her back.

She still hasn’t spoken, so I try again, attempting to make myself appear friendly, welcoming. Not an easy thing when you’re over six feet tall and pretty wide, too. Also, the fact I haven’t had a change of clothes, shave, or a haircut for a while won’t help.

Shari Elder (@ShariElderBooks) Stops by to Talk Villains!

Menage a Villain

I love a good villain, don’t you?

But they can be so hard to find! The best villains don’t see themselves as villains and it is this moral blind spot that enables their evil. Their ability to nuance their ethics – make their actions understandable, even sympathetic, is what makes them so downright scary. Like lovers, villains make our hero and/or heroine a better person by forcing them to confront and overcome their weaknesses, while surviving in the face of endless challenges.

Looking at the villains I can’t forget, I see a set of common characteristics:

  • They are on a mission, even if we don’t agree with it.
  • They often lead a pack. Their ability to motivate their people, care for them even if that care is twisted, reveals that nuanced reality.
  • Their words, mannerisms, looks, intellect, all would be drop dead sexy if their bad wasn’t so truly bad.

My two hands down favorites are Hans Gruber, excellently depicted by Alan Rickman, in the film Die Hard and John Harrison/Khan, played to perfection by Benedict Cumberbatch in Star Trek into Darkness.

Hans Gruber glides off the elevator in a custom-tailored, Savile Row suit, followed by a horde of to-die-for bad boys in tight black t-shirts to execute the ultimate burglary. Within minutes on the screen, he had me at, “I could talk about men’s fashion and industrialization all day but I’m afraid work must intrude.” He is clever, quick, charming and a total snake.

Cumberbatch’s Khan is convinced of the rightness of his superiority.  As ruthless as he is, he had my heart clenching in my chest when he admitted his commitment to his crew. Remember this line? “My crew is my family, Kirk. Is there anything you would not do for your family?”

A family man, but also a cold-blooded ruthless psychopath. Who didn’t shiver when he said to Spock, “I will target your life support systems located behind the aft nacelle. And after every single person aboard your ship suffocates, I will walk over your cold corpses to recover my people.”

Gotta love him. So, when I write villains these are my role models, what I aspire to create.

In my latest release, Race to Redemption, my goal is to build an equally nuanced villain. Tij Pardahl is an alien species, which is gender neutral at rest, but shifts into male or female during sex. They socially organize in threesomes. I show Tij’s complexity through the love scenes—nurturing protectiveness yet with ruthless chill. I actually hadn’t planned to do it that way, but Tij insisted.  Characters do want their own way.

Who are your favorite villains?

Hello, I’m Shari. By day, I crawl out of bed, mainline coffee, walk the dog, get my kid off to school, hop on the metro, and save cities within the four walls of my office. Usually by email.

At night, the other Shari emerges.  I take off the suit, curl up on the couch and let my imagination play, with words and images until stories take shape (while periodically checking on my teen-ager, hiding out in the bedroom and plotting world domination).  As my alter ego, I save cities in a cape and spangled tights, wander space and time on a surfboard, fly over the Himalayas on feathered wings, make six-toed footprints in indigo talc snow on the sixth planet in the Andromeda galaxy or eavesdrop on Olympian gods while pretending to whip up a bowl of ambrosia.

In all these wondrous worlds, romance and passion blossom. I can’t resist a happy ending. And I am particularly prone to writing happy endings for those who have given up on ever getting one. That gives me immense satisfaction.

Mid Week Tease: I had not been expecting that. #MWTease

mid-week-tease-buttonHi everyone,

Welcome back to Mid Week Tease! This week I’m sharing another snippet from The Billionaire and the Wild Man. I hope you enjoy it!

The Billionaire and the Wild ManCupping her hands over her mouth, she giggles.

I feel a sense of achievement—I’ve made her laugh, broken the ice, for want of a less clichéd description.
“Well? Want to help me pick up litter while you talk?”

Her eyes widen for a second, but then a determined expression crosses her face. “Yes, actually, I’d love to.”

I figure not much harm can come to her feet on the soft grass, so I grab the bag I’ve been using to hold the litter—not that there’s much, the ramblers that come through here are a respectful lot, on the whole—and hand it to her. Turning away, I begin looking for more rubbish, hoping she’ll follow me, and, more importantly, start talking.

Fortunately, she does.

“Well, uh, as I already said, I’m not here on holiday. It’s nowhere near as fun as that. I’m here … for a rehab, of sorts.”

As I have my back to her, I allow the surprise I feel to show on my face. I had not been expecting that.
