Filthy Friday: Harper Bliss

It’s my pleasure to welcome Harper Bliss to my site today to talk about her fabulous story in Smut in the City.

First of all, thank you Lucy for having me over on your blog. It’s a great honour for me, just as it is an honour to have a story in Smut in the City amongst a whole slew of fabulous writers (still pinching myself). Today I will enlighten you on the inspiration behind my story in Smut in the City, which is called Neighbours and is set in Hong Kong.

Two aspects of the story are drawn from real life. I’ve lived in Hong Kong for the past two years (it’s as crazy as it looks) and the premise of being able to see your neighbours in the shower… Unfortunately, in my case, the only person I ever saw showering in the building opposite mine was a chunky Chinese man, but that’s what fiction is for, of course.

Just to give you an idea, this is the proximity we’re talking about. I took this picture from my balcony.

As you can see, it’s all wrapped up in bamboo scaffolding (yeah, I had to get used to that as well when I first arrived) at the moment, but here’s another shot of the concrete jungle I live in.

Space is the number one luxury in Hong Kong. Personally, thinking of the price per square foot depresses the hell out of me so I try to focus on the positives. In an environment like this, where everyone is literally packed together, you simply can’t help but peep into someone’s living room now and again. When I noticed the call for submissions for an anthology called Smut in the City a loud alarm went off in my head. I live in the New York of the East, with its brazen neon lights and 24-hour lifestyle it’s a far cry from the provincial town I hail from. I just had to write a smutty city story. Hong Kong has made a big impression on me and choosing it as the location for some soapy F/F erotica makes it all the more fun.

Here’s an excerpt from my story Neighbours:

One night, on her tiny balcony, when searching for the harbour in between the skyscrapers obstructing an open view, her gaze had drifted to the apartment building on the left. It was the usual grey affair with a yellow glow beaming through the windows, creating a scattered pattern of city light. From the shower heads towering over plastic curtains she’d learned she was watching a column of bathrooms. Except, on the twelfth floor—at least she guessed it was the same floor as hers—the person in the process of showering obviously didn’t believe in curtains. At first, it didn’t fully register, but as her eyes grew wider and her mouth curled into a smile, Karen had realised she was witnessing quite the revealing shower scene.

The woman on the other side of the window, which wasn’t even matted, lathered soap over her arms, producing white frothy bubbles that stood out against her olive skin. Karen deemed it impossible for the woman not to know that she was on display. The easy conclusion was that she must really enjoy it. At least four other buildings had windows or balconies facing her bathroom. Hundreds of eyes could feast on the way the foam was slipping off the woman’s skin right now. Karen had checked her watch. It was just past eight, around the time half of professional Hong Kong arrived home from work. Apart from an exhibitionist streak, the woman also had excellent timing.

Karen had soon learned that the showering woman was a recurring phenomenon and she found herself drawn to her balcony every time she stepped inside her flat. Some nights, after a rough day in the office dealing with incompetent suppliers, she’d rush home instead of going for the usual after work drinks with her colleague Andy, and could only relax with a glass of wine on her balcony, eyes glued to the illuminated window across from her. Once, when stuck in traffic after a gruelling meeting, she’d gotten out of the cab and half-jogged home to make it in time for the show. She wasn’t exactly proud of it, but Karen felt that her own vices were easily eradicated by the woman’s.

Thanks again for having me, Lucy!

A Sexy Snippet from The Look of Lust

The Look of LustI’m continuing to highlight some of the stories I have in anthologies as they don’t usually get as much exposure (if you’ll pardon the pun) as my single-author stories. Here’s an excerpt from my story, Farm Hand, which appears in Xcite Books anthology The Look of Lust, which also contains my story, Spa Daze, under the name of Louisa Harvey. Enjoy! :)

As Ramona made her way down the gravel track, she spotted some farm buildings. Glancing down at her map, she nodded. Her route would take her right through the farm yard and then the public footpath continued over a stile into the adjacent field.

She just hoped she didn’t meet any hostile dogs. Or geese. She shuddered. Geese could be vicious creatures.

As she drew closer to the yard, Ramona could see someone hefting bales of hay off a truck. She sighed with relief. At least the farmer would be able to control any unruly animals.

As he turned to place a bale on the ground, Ramona saw the man in profile. He was younger than she’d expected. Much younger, in fact. As his powerful body moved beneath his clothes, Ramona watched, open-mouthed. All thoughts of scary dogs and geese were erased from her mind. She was still drawing closer to him, though her steps were stealthier now. Ramona didn’t want him to know she was there just yet. She was enjoying the flex of his muscles far too much to want to disturb him.

By now, Ramona was close enough to make out his features. Mmm, she thought, he is absolutely not your typical farmer. This guy is hotter than the surface of the sun.

Stopping, she stood at the end of the lane, still within the cover of the trees and hedges lining it. The farmer continued working, his big body heaving the hay around as though it were feathers. It didn’t look as though anyone else was around. He unloaded the lorry without pausing. The only telltale sign of his exertion was the sweep of his sleeve across his forehead, mopping up the sweat that threatened to trickle down his face.

Ramona was in danger of some trickling of her own, only much lower down. Then, just as she thought she’d better get on with her walk, the farmer stopped. Ramona froze, thinking he’d seen her lurking in the shadowy lane. He hadn’t. It appeared the beating sun and his workload were getting to him.

Grabbing the hem of his shirt, he tugged it up over his head, then balled it up and tossed it into the cab of the truck. Ramona suppressed a lusty moan. Hotter than the surface of the sun had been a completely apt description.

The farmer’s long lean body tapered down into narrow hips, from which hung loose combat trousers. They were slung so low that she could see the line of dark hair running from his bellybutton southwards.

Completely oblivious to his appreciative audience, the farmer carried on with what he’d been doing. Now he was moving the bales into a nearby barn. Ramona drank in his every detail: the dusting of dark hair on his broad chest; his muscular arms; handsome face and ohhh – she bit her lip as he bent over – his tight arse.

Any minute now and his wife was going to come out with a cool drink, Ramona was sure of it. There was no way a man this attractive hadn’t been snapped up. She waited. Nobody came.

By now, she was getting really rather agitated. Her lusty behaviour meant the gusset of her knickers was wet. It stuck to her skin, and her pussy ached. She stuffed her hand between her thighs and squeezed them together, hoping the friction would provide some relief. It didn’t.

Across the yard, the hard-working hunk wiped his brow again, then glanced at his watch. A surprised expression crossed his attractive features. Ramona checked her own watch. Lunchtime.

There were only a few stacks of hay left sitting on the concrete to be taken into the barn. Ramona could see what was going to happen. He was going to put the last few bales away and head in for lunch, leaving her there, insanely horny and with no chance of relief. She wasn’t even half way through her walk, so it wasn’t as if she could rush home to stroke herself to climax.

Ramona’s brain whirred, flicking through a multitude of devious plans, none of which seemed plausible. The sweaty sex god was now walking out of the barn once more, having deposited his last load. He moved in the direction of the farmhouse.

Ramona’s hormones took over and forced her brain into a quick – probably quite reckless – decision. Stepping out of the shady lane, she pretended to turn her ankle and went down with a loud yelp, her map slapping down on the concrete next to her.

Turning at the sound, the farmer couldn’t help but see her hunched on the floor, clutching her ankle. He ran over, muscles pumping and flexing as he moved. Ramona swallowed the saliva pooling in her mouth. She was going for damsel in distress, not drooling mess.

‘Hey, are you OK?’ Stupid question aside, the farmer’s deep, seductive voice made Ramona hot. She wanted him. If he turned her down for whatever reason, then fine. She’d just have to go home and wank herself silly. But she was going to give it her best shot.

He crouched beside her, hands already reaching for her “injured” ankle. He wore no wedding ring. Adrenalin pumped through Ramona’s body and her heart fluttered in her chest. Then she mentally shook herself. That didn’t mean a thing. He probably didn’t wear it for work in case he lost it. Or perhaps he had a girlfriend, but wasn’t married yet.

When he touched her, Ramona’s brain promptly disengaged from that thought process.

‘Ooh,’ she moaned, then remembered to sound uncomfortable, rather than aroused, ‘ouch. I turned it on a stone or something.’

Excerpt:

I am surrounded by incompetence.

Kien Varian reluctantly waved away the two voluptuous women sitting on either side of him. They flashed him pouty looks as he blew them apologetic kisses. Their hips swayed seductively as they quietly exited his social room.

The playful expression on his face morphed into an icy mask. Warm amber eyes, turned cold and predatory. Before him, a Mixed male kneeled on one of his fur rugs, one fist pressed firmly to the ground.

“Markus Lotros.” Crossing his legs, Kien raised a well-manicured hand to stroke his goatee thoughtfully. “Care to repeat those words?”

The messenger winced despite the pleasant tone. “I saw the heir leave her party moments ago… with Lord Larian. I had heard you wished not to be disturbed, but the young master instructed I come to you.”

Kien blinked and the stroking stopped. “Young master? Ah, you mean Eris.” Eris Lotros, heir to the strongest clan in the vampire community. A bit older than the birthday girl tonight by a few years, but his interest was obvious. A good match, if any were worthy of his little Lili.

If she survives.

“Yes, Lord Kien.” Markus’s head remained lowered out of respect and fear. Even being from another clan, there were few who could claim ignorance concerning Kien’s capricious behavior.

Fortunately, the vampire lord had other things on his mind. “Guardian?” he queried.

“Her whereabouts are unknown.”

Right. Of course Reila couldn’t be found. Had Alik listened to him and put a pureblood in charge of protecting Liari, Larian’s obvious ploy would have been less likely to succeed. The last of the Ancient’s resources and abilities had gone into ensuring the heir’s conception; a replacement would not be forthcoming.

“Be grateful your prince is an only child.” Kien finally stood from his plush red sofa, straightening his ruffled blouse. He blew out an exasperated sigh, fingers pinching the bridge of his nose in a futile attempt to thwart an oncoming headache. “Do you know where they were headed, Guardian? Stand up, man. I swear I won’t unleash my crazy on you.”

About Catriana

I live in a beautiful hilly town in the state of Washington. I have a wonderful husband and two cute dogs who are huge parts of my life. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember, and I cannot imagine my life without it. I’m a fantasy/romance author, but I love reading Sci-fi/Fantasy, high fantasy, romance, and I’ve recently delved more heavily into steampunk.

I’ve been a published author since 2011. When I’m not writing, I’m procrastinating on websites like tumblr and roleplaying forums, I’m out and about learning the local area, or I’m playing video games. I’ve won National Novel Writing Month for two consecutive years and hoping to make 2012 my third.

Sunday Snog – In Search of Bookcases

Sunday Snog

Cougars and JackalsHere’s a saucy snippet from my story, In Search of Bookcases, which is a hot older man/younger woman story featured in Cougars and Jackals, from Xcite Books.

I simply stared at him.

‘Come on, Sophia. Help me out here. I went to all this trouble to get you here, the least you could do is let me know if I’m barking up the wrong tree or not. I thought you liked me, but my radar could be off.’

‘No.’ I said, more forcefully than I’d intended. He looked crushed, obviously getting the wrong end of the stick, ‘I mean, no, you’re not barking up the wrong tree. I like you, too. A lot.’

‘Well, I’m glad we got that cleared up. They were very nice knickers, by the way. I’m sure they don’t leave much to the imagination, though.’

‘Wouldn’t you like to know?’ I retorted, my embarrassment making me defensive.

‘Now you come to mention it, I’d love to. May I?’

I said nothing, just nodded. Declan put his burdens down on a randomly placed table and came to relieve me of mine – including the goddamn pen. Then he moved back towards me and took my face in his hands. As he leaned down to kiss me, I closed my eyes and slid my arms around his waist, relaxing into him.

Sliding my hands onto his buttocks, I pulled him to me, feeling his erection already straining against his jeans. I moaned into his mouth, and that noise seemed to flip a switch in us both. Our movements went from sensual to frenzied in a millisecond. Picking me up, Declan walked over to a rug on the floor and deposited me on it unceremoniously. Tugging off his T-shirt, he revealed a body that many a younger man would have been jealous of. He didn’t have a six-pack or pecs of steel, but he was toned and – I reached up to find out for myself – hard. He had a dusting of fine hair, and a treasure trail that led enticingly to his crown jewels.

Filthy Friday: Tamsin Flowers

Hi all. For this week’s Filthy Friday, I have the fabulous Tamsin Flowers, giving us some background on her story in Smut by the Sea, called The Man on the Balcony. Enjoy!

Hi,

Before getting down to business (so to speak), I just wanted to say how thrilled I am to be invited to post on Lucy’s brilliant blog.  It’s my first time, which makes me something of guest blogger virgin – but this has to be one of the best places to pop one’s cherry!

As I’m writing this, I’m looking out of my window onto a howling gale and lashing rain – the leaves are flying off the trees and even when the sun does peek through, there’s no denying – the season’s changed.  Autumn is upon us and all those sun-drenched days of summer holidays, picnics, garden parties and fun on the beach are well and truly behind us.

But I’m not prepared to let go quite yet and I’m certainly not in the mood to turn my thoughts to Christmas.  While I’ve still got the last vestige of the sun tan that was so hard fought for, I want to cling onto that summer holiday mood for just a little longer before bundling up against the cold.  (And as luck would have it, the sun’s just broken through and feels wonderfully warm through the window!)

I don’t know if you’re the same, but for me, one of the best ways to change my mood or recapture a feeling or a memory is to immerse myself in a great story.  Perhaps that’s why I like to write them, too.  It gives me the perfect excuse to indulge in a few fantasies and still be working at the same time.  And I think the perfect remedy to my change-of-season blues has to be dipping into Lucy’s brilliant anthology Smut by the Sea.  Lucy edited this excellent collection with Victoria Blisse and in so doing brought together a great bunch of writers, including Cynthia Rayne, KD Grace, Tabitha Rayne, MA Stacie, Lexie Bay, Cassandra Dean, Tanith Davenport, Justine Elyot, Heidi Champa and Slave Nano.  For someone who is fairly new to writing erotica, I felt honoured to have a story included with such illustrious company.

My story in Smut by the Sea is called The Man on the Balcony.  When Charlie moves into her new apartment the thing she’s most excited about is having a private balcony with a sea view.  So as soon as she’s unpacked, she indulges herself by stripping off and settling down to relax in the sun.  However, her pleasures are interrupted by her noisy next door neighbour taking calls on his balcony; Charlie can’t help but listen in and before she knows it, she’s intrigued…

Here’s a short excerpt to give you a taster if you’re new to my writing and if you’re interested in finding out more, visit my blog, Tamsin’s Superotica:

Happy reading!

Excerpt:

‘Hi,’ said a man’s voice in answer to the call.  ‘No, I’m home now.  Out on the balcony.’

Could be interesting.  I rolled onto my side, angling myself to hear better what the deep velvety voice was saying.  It was a rich, nuanced baritone with just the hint of a west coast accent.

‘Yes…  Just a meeting with the investors this morning.  Thrashed out the payment schedule…’

Boring, boring, boring.  I sank back on my lounger and tried to shut the voice out of my brain but the main droned on and on about percentages and margins and dividends.  I slung a forearm across my face and tried to retreat back into my soft, sun-kissed cocoon.  I used my other hand to softly, gently arouse my nipples, brushing across them, stroking and pinching them until they stood out proud and sent fiery demands coursing through my body.  I writhed on cushions, letting both hands work on the cherry red tips of my breasts, wishing I could bend far enough forward to reach them with my tongue.

Mr Loudmouth next door was still droning on but when I heard him mention the name of a local bar, my ears couldn’t help but prick up.  Mulligans was a place Susie and I went to all the time, whenever we needed to kick back with drinks and dancing, or when we felt in the mood for checking out the local talent.

‘Yeah, I saw her there again,’ he was saying.  ‘Okay, okay, next time.’

He paused, presumably listening to whoever was on the other end of the line.

‘No, I’m gonna say hello, buy her a few drinks…  She’s unbelievable.  Curves, tawny brown skin, deep, dark eyes that could melt Alaska.’  His voice lowered and I was straining to hear him; this was definitely more interesting than his office talk.  ‘There’s just one thing I want to do with her.  We’ll go for a walk on the beach, I’ll take her hand and if she likes it, I’ll kiss her.’

My fingers were starting to do their own walking now as I listened to his plans for his mystery woman.

‘And then…’  A pause.  ‘Of course, I’m gonna fuck her.  Ever tried it?  Sex on the sand?  It’s amazing.  Liberating.’  His voice was starting to sound a little rough, husky even.  I think he was getting turned on at the thought of it.  And why not?  I certainly was.

Smut by the SeaLight hearted, sexy fun by the sea is the theme of this erotic anthology, edited by Victoria Blisse and Lucy Felthouse.
