So, another fabulous event from Mr. and Mrs. Blisse is here. It’s time for Blisse Bunnies! The idea is, a bunch of authors get together and post on the theme of new beginnings, and our wonderful readers hop (no pun intended) around from post to post gathering the information they need to be entered into the prize draw. So, without further ado…

New beginnings – a theme that is often ripe in the romance genre; i.e. new relationships, marriage, divorce, having children… the possibilities, for a writer, are endless. I haven’t covered them all, not by a long shot, but I’m getting there! My absolute favourite story about new beginnings is Loose Ends. It’s an erotic romance short story about two people that have known one another for years, but for various reasons have never gotten together. The story is about giving them another chance, a chance at happiness, a chance for a happy ever after. Here’s a snippet:

Soon I remembered why I hadn’t been up for this in the first place. The busybody was driving me up the wall. My face and neck hurt from all the smiling and nodding. Jenny, or whatever her name was, was currently on maternity leave from her (wonderful) job. Her “perfect” husband had stayed home to look after their “delightful” children so she could come to the reunion and see how everyone was getting on. Despite this statement, she hadn’t asked any of us a single question. She was too busy talking about herself.

I zoned out of Jenny’s inane chatter and stared into the middle distance. Suddenly, something moved into my line of sight that snapped me back into the land of the living. Or should I say someone.

“Fuck!” I exclaimed, gaining a disapproving look from Mrs. Busybody and puzzled ones from the girls.

“He’s fucking here!”

Why not?! As you can see from the header on my website, I write all kinds of genres and all kinds of pairings. I love having the freedom to write what I like, about whatever kinds of people I like. Out of everything I write, my lesbian books sell the best. I’m not sure why, but as long as people are reading and enjoying my books, I don’t mind. My latest GLBT release is actually part of a group project where myself and six other writers took on the Seven Deadly Sins. Mine was Pride, and my story, The Sweetest Revenge, is a hot and sexy F/F tale about what happens when one of the characters is too proud.

Here’s the blurb:

Abigail’s had a crush on Mackenzie the motorcycle courier for months, but Mackenzie doesn’t even know she exists. Nothing exists for Mackenzie, though, except for her pride and joy – her Ducati Monster.

After an unpleasant encounter, Abigail decides to get her own back on Mackenzie – in the worst possible way. Despite the pleas of her colleagues, Abigail plans to hide Mackenzie’s precious motorbike, and take the haughty bitch down a peg or two.

Naturally, when Mackenzie discovers her bike is gone, there are fireworks. It’s April 1st, so she suspects trickery rather than criminal activity, but that doesn’t mean the person responsible will be getting off lightly…

Annalise hated leaving her favourite toy behind when she went away, but she just wasn’t brave enough to take it with her. She usually only took carry-on luggage, and the very thought of the distinctive shape of the Rampant Rabbit popping up on the screen of the airport scanners made her shudder. It would be bad enough for the staff to see it on their monitors, knowing what it was and giving her knowing looks; imagine what would happen if they decided to check inside her bags! She would want to curl up and die of embarrassment, she just knew it.

Random Musings on Ice Cream – Revisited

A few months ago when Lucy kindly invited me onto her site to talk about my story ‘One Scoop or Two’ in the Smut by the Sea anthology I contributed a blog about the inspiration behind the story.  The story is set in the Yorkshire seaside town of Bridlington and involves a lot of ice cream and a fair amount of oral sex!  But the ice cream parlour was inspired by one I remember from my childhood called Morellis in Broadstairs in Kent.

Well, last week I visited Kent for the first time in a number of years, met up with an old school friend, visited some old haunts and went to a football game (Yay, come on you Gills! – that’s Gillingham FC to you, top of League Two as I write).  Of course Broadstairs featured highly on my itinerary and naturally the opportunity to visit the ice cream parlour of my childhood memories could not be missed.

Yes, I went to the Morellis ice cream parlour.  Was the ice cream as good as I remembered it?  Hell, yes, I should say so!  I had a double cornet with coffee and coconut ice cream……and it was awesomely delicious.  And Broadstairs itself was just as nice and quaint as I remember it too, so it was a great day out. I should stress I didn’t get locked into the parlour like Keeley and Darren in my story….hmm, a shame really!

I hope you’re all gearing yourself up to go to the ‘Smut by the Sea’ event in Scarborough on 22nd June.  I’m certainly looking forward to it.  I’ve offered to do a reading from my ‘One Scoop or Two’ story in the evening and during the day readings from my erotic novel ‘Adventures in Fetishland’ and launching the print version of it out at the same time.  The latter could be interesting as I’m inviting a couple of special guests to read for me (all will be revealed nearer the time).  It’ll be the first time I’ve read in front of an audience of more than one or two so I’m a bit nervous, but I reckon it’s going to be a lot of fun!.  So, hope to see you all in Scarborough in June.

One Scoop or Two?

This week, I’m sharing a snippet from Flesh Spills and Secret Thrills, a rubenesque mini-anthology, containing two stories each from myself and Victoria Blisse.

When my boyfriend Chris commented on how hot he thought I’d look in a corset, I almost wet myself laughing. It’s not that I have low self-esteem – I don’t – it’s just that I’ve always felt that corsets were for skinny girls. Or at least girls with a little less ‘up top’ than me. I have large breasts – huge, in fact – and I struggle to get pretty bras to fit me, let alone sexy corsets.

Patrick watched, enthralled, as Allison set the bag down on a high table and slid a stack of thin glossy comic books out of the bag. Each issue was handled delicately, as if it was a precious object that needed to be held with care. He didn’t see anything in the hoard of books he recognized, but since he hadn’t seen or touched a comic book since childhood, he didn’t find that especially surprising.

He wanted to ask her about her attraction to each when his gaze fell on her face. The words caught in his throat as he became struck speechless by the sheer joy in her expression. Her chocolate-colored eyes were bright and a touch of pink darkened her cheeks.

She’d looked the very same way last night when he’d brought her screaming over the edge. He watched in fascination as she carefully scanned each book while she held it with her fingertips. This was so much more than a hobby for her. This was a very serious and unshakable passion.

Arousal pooled in his groin as he watched. When the sensation flourished without any encouragement, he realized he couldn’t wait until later. He had to have her now. Where they stood positioned them perfectly so they were hidden if someone glanced into the room. Coming fully into the room was a different matter, but that had never stopped Patrick before.

Sliding closer, he slipped his hand along her back. She squirmed, giggling softly when his fingers dipped below the hem of her skirt. In one quick motion, he lifted her skirt over her hips.
