Sunday Snog – A French Affair

Sunday Snog

A French AffairHere’s another snog from my just-released erotic romance novella, A French Affair. This book was such fun to write, especially as I sent my characters on a lovely day trip to my favourite city – Paris. Enjoy the snog 😉

The mischief in his eyes and the smile threatening to take over his lips were infectious. Sydney couldn’t help it – she laughed. And once she started, she couldn’t stop. When she eventually calmed down enough to take a breath, she put the gifts he’d brought her on the worktop and stepped over to where he stood by the boiling kettle. She slipped her arms around his waist, and he quickly reciprocated.

Harry leant down for a kiss, then paused, seemingly thinking better of it. ‘Does that mean you’re going to give us a chance?’

Standing on her tiptoes, Sydney pressed a kiss to his lips. ‘What do you think?’

‘I’m going to take that as a yes.’ With that, he captured her mouth with his, and they quickly became lost in one another, this time with no reason to stop.

Sydney felt much better about their kiss this time. Firstly, she too had spent time during the night thinking about their potential relationship. She’d eventually come to the conclusion that it was pointless trying to guess what would happen. The only way to find out if things would work out between them was to try. She couldn’t punish him – and herself – for her ex’s deceit. If she never trusted another man again, then she’d never be happy. And she deserved happiness – everyone did.

She pulled away, feeling pleasantly dizzy and sucking in a much-needed deep breath.

Excerpt:

Belle was bored out of her damn mind. She was sitting on a deckchair on Croyde Beach, watching her friends Adrian and Wayne surfing. It had been fun at first, seeing their athletic bodies manoeuvring the boards with skill, riding the waves. And giggling at the occasional fall, of course. They were good, but not perfect.

Now, on the third day of walking from their lush holiday cottage to the beach to watch the surfers, Belle really wished she’d stayed in and taken advantage of the free WiFi. Or even gone into the village pub or cafe. Read a book. Anything but continue to observe the boys on their bloody boards.

She wasn’t even supposed to be there, really. A third guy, Max, was meant to be going, but he’d dropped out for some reason, so the others had asked her if she wanted to come along.

“Come on,” Adrian had said, “there are three bedrooms, all en-suite, so it’ll be private for you. Free WiFi, underfloor heating, the works.”

“Sounds expensive.”

“It is, but not for you. Max has already paid his share, and it was non-refundable. We won’t find another surfer to come at such short notice, so Max will have to take the hit. He’s okay with it. Anyway, you’ve gotta come. You don’t have other plans, do you?” His voice sounded slightly incredulous at that last part, and Belle’s reply was snippy.

“No, I don’t. But there’s no need to be mean about it.”

“Sorry, babe. I didn’t mean it like that. How about I make it up to you? A free week away do you? All you need is spending money.”

“No petrol money? Are we teleporting there?”

“Hey, who’s being mean now? Anyway, no you don’t. I invited you, and I wouldn’t expect you to pay for petrol. Come on…” He wheedled and cajoled.

Belle gave in. She’d only really been being stubborn because of the comment about her not having anything else to do. Inwardly, she’d jumped at the chance of a free holiday, but she’d remained cool on the outside.

Now, though, she wished she’d remained cool through and through, or that her boss had refused to give her the time off. Yes, it had been nice to see what her two best friends did every time they tore off to the Devon or Cornwall coast, but now she’d had her fill.

It wasn’t all bad, though. The weather was gorgeous, especially for early November, and there was hardly anyone around. She imagined the place would be heaving in the summer, but now there were just a handful of surfers, the occasional dog walker and a few hikers.

The hikers gave her an idea. She could go for a walk. Take in a bit more of the scenery, something different from the section of beach she’d been staring at for three days straight. Yes, that’s what she’d do. Rummaging in the bag she’d brought with her, she found an old receipt and a pen.

Gone for a walk. Got my mobile if you need me. Belle xxx

Hump Day Hook No. 13 #HDH

humpdayhookHi everyone and welcome to Hump Day Hook, which is basically where authors post a paragraph from a WIP or a published work to show it off to the world. This week, I’m sharing a snippet from my just released erotic romance novella, A French Affair.

Sydney Tyler jumped so hard that her fingers slammed down onto the laptop’s keyboard and she typed a bunch of gobbledegook.

Kashfkjsdhlfknsdlfvn sdlkch awoeduioh ahdwklc

Gasping, she clutched at her chest as her heart thumped rapidly and painfully. “What the fucking hell was that?” she said to the empty room.

Pushing her chair back from the desk, she stepped over to the window. Peering out into the brilliant sunshine, she saw something on the lawn that she had absolutely not been expecting.

Sunday Snog – A French Affair

Sunday Snog

A French AffairHere’s a brand new snog – woohoo! It’s from my just-released erotic romance novella, A French Affair. This book was such fun to write, especially as I sent my characters on a lovely day trip to my favourite city – Paris. Enjoy the snog 😉

“Yes, I’m positively quaking in my boots,” Sydney replied dryly. “But thanks anyway, I feel much better knowing you’re looking out for me.”

“I’m doing more than that,” he said quickly.

“Yeah?”

“Yeah. I’m wishing I could kiss you.”

“Oh…”

“Can I?”

“Now? Here?”

“Why not? It’s pretty romantic.”

“But people will see.”

“No one will care. This is Paris—they’re all smutty and sex-mad.”

“Really? In that case, that would be lovely.” She twisted her upper body to face him, leaning to meet him halfway. She kept her eyes open a little while, wanting to see his expression, but he quickly got so close he grew blurry, so she squeezed her lids shut. Opening her mouth slightly, a thrill ran through her as she felt his breath against her lips, then finally his mouth on hers. It was tentative at first—she remembered he was as out of practice as she was, even more so in fact—then he clearly grew more comfortable, more confident. His gentle movements grew more passionate, his lips taking hers as though he wanted nothing more in the world than to be kissing her. She certainly hoped that was the case, as it was the way she felt.

Eventually, the relatively chaste kissing was not enough. Harry slipped his hand around the back of her neck and pulled her harder onto him and plunged his tongue between her lips. She had to work hard not to let a moan escape—she was sure the people around them were getting enough of a show without her making noises like she was in a porno. Instead, she shifted her own hand to mirror his, tangling her fingers into the thick hair at the nape of his neck and tugging it slightly.

He reacted by kissing her harder, his tongue slipping sensuously against hers, doing a little dance and exploring every sensitive millimetre of her mouth and lips. She was in serious danger of melting into a puddle of lust and being soaked up into the Parisian soil beneath them. Determined to hold her own, she kissed with as much fervour as he, forcing his tongue back into his mouth with hers and returning the favour.

Soon, she became horribly aware that if they continued, they’d be likely to get carried away and end up being arrested for indecent exposure.

Guest Blogger: Victoria Blisse

I’m delighted to have my co-editor, partner in crime and fellow Northern Bird, Victoria Blisse, here to talk about Smut by the Sea and her inspiration for the second volume. Take it away, Victoria!

Tropical Treat

If you’ve read my story in Smut by the Sea Vol 1 you might have thought I’d have kept to the coast of Britain for my volume two story. I thought about it, I do love Britain and its seaside towns but in the end I decided to go for something completely different.

Considering I’ve never visited a hot country in my life it was a little bit of challenge writing about a Caribbean island. Thank the lord for the internet, as I’d have been lost without it. The first thing I had to establish was why this lovely single lady would be in such a place on her own.  In the end I decided she wouldn’t be, she was on honeymoon. However there’s a bit of a twist to that!  Here’s an excerpt to illustrate:

“Stop it,” I hissed after she stroked my hand for the umpteenth time. “I know you’re trying to help but just tone it down would you?” I don’t know if she really was being overly touchy-feely or if I was just ratty from lack of sleep.

“All right,” she smiled, “but I do like the way that guy on reception keeps staring at us. I think he wants to see us kiss.”

I glanced to my right and sure enough the man behind the reception desk was looking our way. I was sure he’d be eyeing up Sam. He was gorgeous. Tall, tanned and well proportioned. My heart thudded madly just imagining what it would be like to kiss him.

“He’s eyeing you up, love.” I replied with a laugh and dismissed my thoughts as the desires of an overtired and constantly horny single woman. “Anyway, what’s our plan for today?”

“The beach,” Sam exclaimed. “I have the cutest bikini I want to try out.”

“Oh, okay, well, as long as I can find some shade, I can read my book.” I hate the heat, I really do and lying under the sun is not my idea of a good time and trust me, no one wants to see my ample curves in a bikini. But if I could find a little shade, I could read and maybe nap and that was certainly an attractive prospect.

Sam shook her head then munched on a slice of melon.

“Meet you on the beach in ten?”

I like beaches, I do. It’s just I like to see them from a shaded, secluded spot. Sam was spread out on a lounger in the bright sunshine, her pink bikini glowing in the lazy Caribbean light. I huddled under a sunshade a few metres away in my long lined floaty dress sipping from a large glass of ice cold water. I really wanted to be inside in the cool of the air conditioning but as I’d only been outside for half an hour I didn’t think Sam would be awfully impressed with my retreat.

I tried to read my book but kept being distracted by just how hot I was.

“Having fun, Becks?” Sam didn’t look my way, but the sound carried over the lazy wash of the ocean as there were only a few other, mostly silent guests on the hotel’s private beach.

“Hmm,” I replied. “If I had a cabana boy to waft me with a huge palm leaf I’d be in heaven.”

“Well, ma’am, we can’t provide that but we do have some pretty efficient fans if you’d like me to get you one.”

I was startled by the voice of a man with a personally unfamiliar but instantly recognisable English accent. I was so startled I spilt water on my chest. Thankfully my Kindle was on my lap away from the eruption of liquid.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you jump.”

“It’s okay,” I replied. It was the incredibly hot guy I’d seen on reception earlier. “I needed cooling down and that fan sounds fantastic.”

“I’ll be right back.” He smiled and my stomach did back flips. When he came back and set up a powerful battery powered fan I could have kissed him.

“Oh, that’s perfect,” I moaned with inappropriate delight. “Thank you so much—” I looked up at him and his name tag, “Ben.”

“You’re very welcome. If you need anything else, just call.” His smile was delightful; the cool of the fan was forgotten as the depths of my libido flooded me with wanton heat.

“Oh, Ben, could you get me a Mojito?” Sam fluttered her lashes and the hot guy jumped at her command. Nothing new there. I loved Sam dearly, but she didn’t do me any good in the men stakes. Even Eddy asked her out first, but then he was asking everyone out all the time apparently. I should be relieved he left me on my wedding day, dressed in my finest. I felt like a princess until the news arrived that he was a no show.

When Ben brought Sam her Mojito, she touched his hand and flirted with him like she does so easily.

“Well, I’d love to stay here chatting to you and your lovely lady wife, but I must get back to reception. Sadly, it doesn’t run itself.”

Sam giggled as he walked off. “I convinced him that we’re queer. Think we’d be able to bag him for a threesome, he’s pretty damn hot.”

“Sam!” I gasped. “Don’t be ridiculous. I wouldn’t fuck you if my life depended on it.”

“Oh, gee, thanks. I’d fuck you if it meant I got my hands on that hot, tasty morsel.”

“But you’re the easy one in this relationship,” I chuckled. There was no use getting mad, I was there as part of a lesbian couple on my official documentation, letting a member of staff know that was in fact a lie wouldn’t be clever.

“That’s why you love me,” she lifted her sun glasses and winked broadly sending us both into gales of laughter. I started to relax into the holiday with the aid of the powerful fan. I had nothing to do, nowhere to be and crystal clear waters in front of me and a beach that stretched on for miles. Maybe I could make it work.
