The Bad Boys of Romance

Ooh, lots of girls love a bad boy, and who can blame them? Dean Winchester, Damon Salvatore, Eric Northman… delicious, sexy, naughty, irresistible bad boys. Yum. And that’s what this hop is all about, the bad boys of romance.

I’ve penned a bad boy or two myself, one such example being Drew from my short story, A Bit of Rough. He’s a chain-smoking, womanising bad-ass, but he’s sooo damn sexy. My character, Alison, is after a bit of fun, so she allows Drew to seduce her, with unforgettable results…

Here’s the book blurb:

When Alison meets Andrew, she instantly pegs him as a moron. He’s a total bad boy and does nothing but chain smoke and brag about his stream of past conquests. Yet, much to her confusion, Alison still finds herself attracted to him. She’s not had sex in a while, so Alison figures there’s no harm in going home with him to get herself a bit of rough.

I love the bad boys, whether they be shifters, aliens, doms, or cowboys. And since I only read romances with a happily ever after, they keep me coming back for more. We know that underneath that bad boy exterior lies a hero who is strong, sexy, loyal, confident, and protective of their woman even when they KNOW she can kick some major ass.

I love the anti-hero, and so far, I’ve not found better examples than Lelouch from Code Geass and Light Yagami from Death Note. They are bad boys you really, really wish you could side with, but at the same time, you know their methods are completely wrong.

Mmmm… bad boys. Excuse me while I salivate. To pick just one bad boy is so very hard, but I will try! I enjoy Christian Grey (who wouldn’t? Am I right, ladies?). His compulsive need to control is scary and hot all at the same time. Another bad boy who has me slobbering all over myself is Travis from “Beautiful Disaster!” A man who makes a living by punching the shit out of another man!?!?! Hold me back! Thanks for the giveaway! Dean Winchester. I still watch Supernatural even though I think the last couple of season were mediocre just to get my Dean fix. A Bit of Rough sounds like a quick, fun read.
